Solas was very--VERY--protective about Sam, extremely territorial and
jealous.
I don't know if you can read them but it says "my purity is all I have
left...he is my damned angel, I have to love him" and "I am an impure demon
mated with someone pure. He is my most precious treasure"
The Solam one (yes I otped it) is a black background, Solas was impure; a
sinning fallen angel who had tied himself down to a demon, even if he
didn't want to. Sam is surrounded by white to represent her lost purity.
The other side is for Sal; Sol is pure and innocent, hence the white
background. Sam has barely any innocence left in her. Any there is, is kept
very well hidden. The black, as you could probably guess, is her impurity.
She hates what she became because of her foolishness with Solas, and is
tortured every time being around Sol by her own instincts.
