NO it's not traced, and NO they are not pornstars, expect one. you got one D.A model, and the others are mostly top models or movie actres...

This is a STUDY compilation for the faces of DC women characters .

-----about using models-----------

Basically I like to have a model for reference when drawing a character(face only; I don't care about the body). It Highly helps avoiding the "clone syndrom"
We all have a basic way of drawing a face; you may keep that when you have to draw 22pages/months; it's higly understandable, but you MIGHT avoid that when producing a cover/ illustration. I'll also say, keeping a typical face for the majors roles in the comics page should be a plus. if the unused/minors characters are a bit too similar (crowd and such) it's not that important.
It's hard thing; sometime you think "oh I'm going to make him a bigger nose and big ears and et voila !" but that's not how it works in general.
It's easier with women because you can still make the tricks with their haircut and makeup/accessories. Even if they do all have the same face, you can make the difference with that.

Ok then, I did a "casting" years ago, the "who would be fine to play this character ?" kind.
I usually kept the models that popped in my mind without letting me the time to search for them (spontaneity=often the best choice)

Spending time looking the model features and trying to memorise how they work (eyes/nose/skull/lips shapes... particular expression ? what's the most noticeable point ?) may be fine, but for my part It "prints" better in my brain when I draw them. It's like when you learn anatomy I guess; you draw, you memorize.

So YEAH , each characters from this pic have their own model, and YEAH , of course I used photo references. That's was the goal.its was ALL about studying; not creating.
I didn't really planned to post this around here, but well.... why not sharing.

Some of my model might be easily recognizables, others don't. I sometime chose to keep the original pose(donna,diana,ivy) sometime not....
Well i'm ok with the whole result, but it's boring as hell to do, because there's not that much place to create; so sometimes I changed stuff here and there, but mostly the only real stuff to play with were the colors.
Some of my model changed with the time, I don't use the same one for donna troy now; and my model for mary marvel wasn't the same 2 years ago.

Having a face feature in mind is the key I think, even If I don't refer to my model for EACH of my pics, I try to keep some part similar when drawing ( IVY nose ; or Zatanna eyes) the deal if to find the most noticeable part of your original model, this is the same tricks for caricatures.

I dunno, if for example you decide to cast Lara Croft as Angelina Jolie (but HONESTLY who could have SUCH a BAD idea ? ) you have to notice in few second she have huge lips, very round eyes, square jaw, that's her feature.
Some models (man or female I mean) are way easier then some others to draw, the hardest one remains the most classic ones with hard noticeables features.

PS2/ I'm not going to say who's who. I'm such a coward HEHEHEHEH. but you might try to find the whole casting if you have minutes to loose.

Otherwise, yep, it's not that hard to find at least 4 of them
