Meet the Quartz Meteor Wyvern!! They're a shiny fellow who, despite their scary-looking teeth, survives entirely off of light absorbed by the 'crystals' growing along its body. The brighter the glow, the healthier and more energetic the Wyvern!

QUARTZ METEOR

The crystals that branch off of this unremarkable egg collect energy from the light of distant stars. It drifts across the cosmos until, eventually, it crashes onto the surface of a planet and hatches. As these 'Quartz Wyverns' simply need light to survive, they can handle life on even the harshest of worlds. When it comes time to mate, the Wyvern rises from its planet and soars out into space, using the crystal-like formations on its back to sing (a sound that is a cross between glass resonating and whale song) and attract others of its kind.
