psh, those have died before and come back fine. How do you think the Dark Ages, or the Witch Trails or 90s comics happened?

I actually like (most of) the no underwear change(s).

Haven't actually been antiquated enough with pre-flashpoint yet so I'm not really focusing on post-flashpoint stuff too much yet.

do you mean Batman inc. era pre-flashpoint? or "my first comics were new 52" pre-flashpoint.

As far as I can tell, Batman inc is a side thing that kinda slid over into post-flashpoint since it doesn't really ground itself much into any comic outside of itself and other Batman related comics. (haven't read any of them, after inc began, yet so wouldn't know)

I'm really trying to read things from 80s-90s and then read 2Xs because I'd like to know who these characters are that I've never heard of, and also read before 86/pre-crisis because
even though the first crisis supposedly erased all of the history before it (like flashpoint), DC decided to leave a lot of the history intact and picked certain spots to wipe things away while leaving a lot of other things the way they were (like flashpoint) and finally leaving you to use your imagination with no explanations aside from at the most a few sentences from the characters and to just roll with it (sound familiar?).

I read Action Comics/Supergirl/Justice League and they look completely redone, but I hear that Batman and Green Lantern keep a lot of history intact while being placed in a new world
(Green Lantern continuing from "War of the Green Lanterns" and Batman continuing from Inc while still having 4 Robins)

What I'm saying is I'd rather focus on the older comics and work my way into the new incomplete-retcons so I could understand what's going on better.
I don't really even know who Hush/Azrael/Doomsday/Green Lanterns are aside from basically tv and movies.

well, if you ever get tired of trying to look for certain comics, most of my knowledge of comics past came from the internet. It really helps to look it up actually as comics can be a bit hard to follow sometimes. Take Final Crisis for example. I read the wiki page before trying to read the story and when I did try, I felt pity on any who hadn't read the wiki first.

Dc.wikia.com/Marvel.wikia.com + comicvine.com are + wikipedia.org are the only places I go for when I want to get a glimpse/summary of things, but ultimately I have to read the books myself since I understand better when I actually see them (and animate the pictures in my head).

Here's your homework: read Ostrander's Suicide Squad (v1), JLI (1987), The Dark Knight Returns, Batman Year One, The Killing Joke, Giffen/Grant/Bisley's Lobo, Kingdom Come. They'll all blow your mind and give some open minded perspective of what DC Comics really represents.

I assume you listed those to tell me that DC Comics make great comics >_>?

If that's the case then my response is "I wouldn't be going back through all those years of comics just to read them if I didn't like them. I actually hate reading comics/books, but I really like the characters and stories from DC/Marvel so much that I'm willing to read the books from back when the art wasn't the strong side and hurt my eyes looking at them (40s-60s)."

I already read+watched Batman: Year One and the others are on my to-do-list, but as I said, I'll work my way up.....well I guess I'll read Killing Joke and Kingdom Come very soon (I keep hearing KJ is important and KC had great art).
