Description
I've been practicing new coloring techniques. I wanted to try them on something I had done before. In this case, something I've done twice: the cover of Superman #217 by Ed Benes .

I first attempt to color this in 2006 and again in 2010 .

My first attempt was too flat. And my second attempt was... muddy. There are things I like about the second attempt, namely the dusty and heat vision effects that I may add to this one later. But I'm actually satisfied with how this one came out.
