this is a study of a Luis Royo piece, but I changed the face to that of my friend Neola, she loves Royo. I did one of these for Jez too a while ago, which is what prompted her to request one, so she could see what she'd look like if Royo drew her, er, sorta, I'm sure he'd do better.

Regardless, it was fun, and one always learns by copying the work of someone you admire. I didn't get as close a likeness as I would have liked, but I was working pretty small, the original is 9x12 inches, so the face is probably an inch tall. I did some digital correcting after scanning to try to compensate for that, moved an eye and the mouth a little.

done in about 2 hours, #2 pencil on paper.
