Description
This was another piece to give myself a break on that really long one (Avengers/X-men).This cover was made 2 years ago, so in case you were wondering, it is no longer the 50 anniversary.
7 hours inking, 6 hours coloring.

Going by this excellent image,I perfectly see why Spider-man is so amazing.Β He knows how to really reign in the women. 50 years?! I was not aware good old webhead was around for a very long time. Having Black Cat,Gwen Stacy, and Mary Jane in his life is one hell of a motivation to continue protecting New York.

Thank you! Yeah, I don't do color holds very often, so when I do they stick out more.

You know how to use them only on rare occasions - which definitely makes them more cool to see in your art!
I think I tend to over use them, but then, I'm a huge fan of color holds. I have problems keeping the lines all black, as there aren't any true blacks in real life. lol

True black inks are going to look more comic book style and less painted, and that's what I'm going for is comic book style.
The only times I apply color holds are A: in the background to make it seem more distant and to make the character stand out more. B: on something weird like webbing C: on things that are see through like holograms and D: When in order the show that the character is moving the artist will draw in the same character multiple times, I'll make all but the last character have color holds... does that make sense?
But, that's just my style and a matter of preference... I like your color holds, too.
