You know, it is horrible and everything that Ice King kidnaps princesses but when you really think about it, he's just lonely and he really isn't a threat at all. Like I'd rather get kidnapped by him than some creep in real life. Although it would be really easy to escape but you get my point.

Ice King really is a terrible tragedy. Simon gave himself up to save Marcy and turned into a deranged stalker/kidnapper. What people don't seem to understand is that those two are for all intents and purposes different people. While Marceline is defending the memory of the kind man who saved her life, PB is repelling the old creeper who relentlessly hounds her. Even if he is really being controlled by the crown, she doesn't know that. Marcy does know, and believes that Simon is still somewhere deep inside the Ice King, so she has a much more sympathetic view.

Honestly, if I would imagine what side Marceline will be on, it will definitely be the Ice King. He's been in her life a hell of a lot longer than PB has.

It's not her fault. Ice King treats her like he's a creepy stalker, and it's easy to get the wrong impression of someone.

-hates magic.
-dumped finn for being "too young".
-despises marciline for being different.
-had flame princess imprisoned in a lantern. no wonder flame's been extra pissed off lately.
-acts pretentionus around everyone, includeing the duke of nuts.
-forces finn and jake to go on quests for her. does that sound famiular?
-refuses to listen to even logic. shockwave is very displeased.
-and unintentionally unleashed the lich upon the earth.
-and also the reason why the earl of lemongrab lives in torment.

-That's just a part of her beliefs.
-If you were 18, you wouldn't want to have a boyfriend that's 5 years younger than you either.
-That has something to do with their history. We shouldn't judge until we get the full story.
-She locked FP up because there was a high risk of her DESTROTING THE EARTH.
-She was pretentious towards the duke for eating her pudding. She also thought he ruined her body with that potion.
-She doesn't really force F&J to do anything. They always seem willing to help.
-She didn't release the Lich, the snail did, and technically, Finn was the one who had the snail.
-Lemongrab was an accident. She gave him his own castle AND a brother just so he'd be happy.

-Yeah, a belief so strong she can't suck up her pride for five seconds in order to save both herself and the two guys that constantly stick their necks out for her.
- She could have let him off easier... in Burning Low, why didn't she tell Finn the exact thing she told Jake, instead of you have a 'moral responsibility'? Apparently, she thinks everyone should have such a high respect for her they should do what she says when she says it, no questions asked.
-I agree with that one.
-Bubblegum usually acts like a cold stone bitch who takes the logical way, even if it means harming others, or acts benevolently... locking Flame Princess in a jar was neither of those things. The logical thing would be to kill Fp, as cruel as that sounds, but it's the fate of the whole world we're talking about here... the benevolent thing would be to raise her herself, hell, at least don't bring her back to her brother-murdering, megalomaniac father...
-Oh, shes apparently smart enough to calculate the odds of an escape route working or failing, (in the episode James,) but not smart enough to see someone, who is plain as day a nice guy, has a deficiency.Β
-Yeah, that doesn't change the fact shes willingly letting a 12 year old boy go do life-risking tasks for her, totally unpaid, of course.
-That was a totally irresponsible place to put the Lich, by the way. Even if the tree was already there, wouldn't the best move to be to seal it away behind steal doors and move your kingdom? Its a wonder no random birds have flown in and freed him. By the way, you can see Peppermint Butler has been with Bubblegum since he was a child, and the man is friends with both Death and Hudson Abadeer, who is basically Satan. It's not like he is some small fry in the demon world, and shes a super-genius, so you can't sit there and tell me that shes not aware of his evil nature.
-Yeah, she gave him a totally empty castle to live in for possibly hundreds of years, and to fix that, clones him, and leaves those two physiological unstable guys alone together. Oh, whats that, they produced life? Let 'em keep them! What could possibly go wrong?
-The only reason anyone defends Bubblegum for her crappy moral choices and reckless endangerment of people she claims to love 'in the name of science' is because of Bubbline.

Which wasn't even her fault. It was entirely due to Finn completely misinterpreting what she was trying to tell him. She wasn't trying to build him up, it just sounded that way to him.
Why the hell do people even get mad at PB for the events of Burning Low, though? None of the upset she caused was intentional, she was just trying to stop a potential disaster from happening. At least in Wizards Only Fools she did actual questionable/facepalm-y things, like disrespect the beliefs of others to the point of offending an entire community (it's gonna bite her in the ass later, I just know it. she pissed off a city full of frickin' wizards!) and forcing a medical procedure on someone who didn't want it. it might have been for Starchy's wellbeing, but it was still really worrying to see that she'd do that...

I think it's more likely that PB (and Marceline, for that matter) are bisexual. Also, I think PB's moral ambiguity is what makes her interesting! I don't agree with everything she does, but she's a damn interesting and fun character (and also, she's been improving as of late, as well as fairly nice to IK. I have to wonder what sparked that, her own analysis of the situation, or her finally hearing Marceline's POV?
I think the whole thing with people rampantly defending PB bc of her perceived sexuality is more due to a lack of representation in stuff such as girls who like girls romantically, as opposed to anything to do with PB specifically. You see it with Steven Universe these days - like, SU is the only game in town as far as girls being in love with other girls goes, so everyone who gets over-dramatic over canon f/f shippy stuff, from the teens who don't know when to stop being jerks over things that are important to them to the people who are just really angry in general are all crowded into one fandom, which makes the fandom in general look like a powder keg of drama.
I guess what I'm saying here is that the more positive representation that marginalized groups get, the less likely we'll have another bubbline or SU type fandom dramabomb type situation happen, because the people who get overly passionate to the point of aggression about this shit will be more spread out if there are many fandoms that they can see themselves in.

Because your opinion is flawed and based on some really ridiculous things? There are plenty of things to be annoyed at PB for - the wizard city incident is one of them for sure - but a complete misunderstanding that, oh no, got in the way of Finn's romantic relationship! is not one of them.
Also, it doesn't matter if she was being serious or not, F&J were being impolite as fuck not to hear her out. I mean, I get why Finn snuck off, sure, what with having a previous engagement, but Jake had no dang excuse.
