Description This picture was taken around 5:00pm a couple days after a huge storm passed through the area (about 23 inches of snow), knocking power out at my house for nearly two days. Also, the picture was taken from inside a room on the second floor of a Rehabilitation Center, where my grandfather is recovering from surgery.

From the comment above about the lens flare, I'd Only ever use it if its naturally there, like you captured it.
Because to me adding one in from a preset filter from your editing program is like lying ... but thats just me..

yeah, the picture is quite good very peaceful and snowy lol I like it.

Yea, that's pretty much my stand on the topic as well. I did have a natural lens flare, but I really hated the way it looked. I felt that it took away from the picture. The artificial one just didn't look "real." Excellent point

I'm glad you like it

nice color...but try adding a lens flare, might add a little more pizzaz

just a thought

thanks for the advice, i always appreciate any type of suggestion to better my work. I actually had somewhat of a natural flare, but took it out the best I could because I felt that it took away from the image. Maybe I should try an artificial and see how that looks. great idea

My professor hates the use lens flare, but i sometimes like the look of it if it compliments the image

I like lens flares that look natural, deceives the eye to think that you actually are witnessing it, not just looking at a photograph. Some people get lens flare with their glasses so it may make it more "real"

But who knows, could be good, could be bad. Never know until you try

I totally agree, it all depends on what the photo actually is. I can see exactly where O'd place one, i'll try it out tomorrow and see how it looks (getting a little tired). I think in this scene, if we were looking at it with the unaided eye, there would still be a flare with or without glasses, so what you say makes a great deal of sense.

So many decisions to make when doing a piece! haha
