If you’re wondering the two books she is holding are titled “Teach, Love It!” and “Shakespeare Rules!” (They are both fictitious in nature to my knowledge).

After four long years I graduated with a degree in English and Math Secondary Education. So I decided to write what “Ms. Chalmers” would be as a character at Disney High.

Ms. Chalmers did her student teaching with Mr. Bubbles and was actually the one to come up with the idea of splitting the class into groups of two (male and female) because at her heart of hearts she is a shipper. Her students would never know, but Mr. Bubbles gets a laugh out of her trying to pair awkward students up while planning their weddings in her mind.

She’s very enthusiastic and geeky, to the extent that most of her students adore her, and the ones who don’t she calls her little porcupines.

After student teaching was over many of her students (especially Belle, Ariel, and Rapunzel) lamented her no longer teaching Mr. Bubbles Class, but as luck would have it Mr. Bubbles had some “personal matters” to take care of in Hawaii, and insisted that Ms. Chalmers become his long term sub until his return.

Now her students love her, and think of her as a teacher that can be fun, but at the same time get them to learn a little something about life. Thanks to her World War Z is now a popular read among the girls, and The Princess Bride is gaining steam with the boys—they are just less vocal about it.

Adam actually came to her to ask about some books Belle read in the school’s book club and Ms. Chalmers has been helping him read on the side when Belle is busy so one day he can surprise her by quoting Henry V and Richard III consecutively.

Meg and Kida also have a great respect for her. Not only because Ms. Chalmers lets them slide with neglecting the school’s dress code, but also for calling out Gaston for making a racy comment towards them. She acted as if the comment were directed at her and said,

“I’m flattered but whatever day you had in mind I was going to get a voluntary operation.” She had him leave with a referral to the principal. Needless to say he may have transferred out of her class.

Hercules is a great sport with her because her geeky nature unfortunately doesn’t extend to sports. In spite of that she always dresses in the schools colors on Friday and to every reference Herc makes to any of his games she’ll shout, “YAY! SPORTS!” She’s secretly Herc’s favorite teacher because before he buffed up he knew as much about sports as she did, and The Princess Bride is now one of his favorite books.
