Well, I've finally "finished" animating KO Corral's Riko's War series, cleaning up everything, correcting minor problems, and in general getting the thing to look like it's not a work-in-progress.

However, you'll note that I put "finished" in quotations, and this is because I have a few more things I'd like to do with it, although it's become very apparent that these things will take a very long time to do, and I may opt not to bother at all. However, just in case I do, I'll keep it under wraps for the sake of surprise.

For those who haven't been keeping up with the comments in my scraps, KO Corral's Riko's War is a series of five pages of a fight in a comic strip-type format, and I liked his work so much that I decided to animate it (without his permission, although he's since told me he's pleased and impressed with what I've done, which is a load off my head, as I was worried he'd feel I'd taken too many liberties with his stuff).

For comments on the process of making this animation, the changes I made to the source material, and various other tidbits, please look at the work-in-progress pages here:

The final result is 252 frames long, consists of over 500 layers, and runs roughly 1:25-1:30 in length. It was so big, I actually had to go in and economize some frames because Adobe Image Ready was junking up on me for some reason. This is by far the most ambitious animation I've ever done, taking roughly two weeks (albeit this wasn't the only thing I was working on in that time).

So... yeah. Whew!

Good work.

If you're not happy with Adobe Image Ready compromising your work, try Synfig, and/or Gimp and GAP, the Gimp Animation Plugin ?

Thanks, but this is one of the rare times it's given me trouble, and to be fair, I was feeding it about a million frames and layers. If I ever decide to do something so crazy-ambitious like this again and it gives me trouble, I may consider it, but generally I'm pretty happy with it.
