I figure they're on Ember Island. Such a pretty place to draw. And I'm trying to work on my architecture/backgrounds, so it was pretty fun.

I like where you placed the horizon and the receded middleground Anddd of course Mai holding a flower with her hair down... If I were Zuko I would run my hand through it too. Although, his arm is a little off, and so are some of the furniture/beams in relation to each other.

This is so sweet and pretty. I love the concept and the detail on the flowers are really nice! I love the way that Zuko plays with her hair kinda like how he hands fire; it's so careful and almost hesitant but there's a sense of comfort and familiarity. Wonderful piece!

Yep! I used a reference picture from that episode to make sure I had everything correctly. The colors are a little different because of the lighting though.

Aw, that's pretty!
I think the composition might have been better suited a different way, though. I feel like Mai and Zuko are off just a /tad/ bit too much to the right, and the flowers in the center have too much power, and the left side of the picture is too much empty space compared to the rest of it. Maybe just having the 'camera' rotate just a little bit around the left?
I love the way you did the flowers though, very nice :3

I wanted to leave the left side sort of open so I could practice some cloud work, but they didn't turn out wonderfully anyway, so...
But thanks for the tips! I'll keep that in mind. I'm reading a graphic design book, and it's difficult to utilize all of your white space and make everything purposeful and achieve gestalt and junk like that. But I'm working at it!
