Alfman

Originally from the homeworld of Alfheim within the Otena System; a solar system of 5 planets orbiting around a Yellow Dwarf. Alfheim is a very warm, tropical planet year round. Due to this very warm climate, Alfmen have evolved to naturally have dark skin. Lighter skinned Alfmen may be born offworld, but are still quite rare.

Alfmen are a extraterrestrial race, having left the cradle of their homeworld 2000 years ago, having colonized their entire solar system 1900 years ago and have since become one of the most common species to be met on the cosmic scale. In fact, most advancements in space travel were done by Alfmen and they've set up the standard for the Solar Union - an alliance of planets and various races that effectively act as both a non-aggression pact and ensures that underdeveloped planets aren't harmed or interfered with by more developed civilizations. It's unclear if this is a biological need or not, but moth Alfmen have a strong desire to leave the cradle of gravity - many long lived Alfmen will claim it's a product of evolution, as their homeworld of Alfheim was not where the species was born, but they had developed as a species in space. Their origin outside of that is mostly unknown, but they had found the planet Alfheim some time during their early development as a species.

Alfman have a strong tolerance to abnormal gravity. Alfman, untrained, are able to keep equilibrium within low-to-zero gravity environments and keep withstand gravity fields up to 10x that of Earth.

Alfman males are distinguished by their sharp, stubby ears. Alfman, on average, are larger than their female counterpart - usually as small as a few inches, with the male's average height being from 5'5 - 6'5, though some variants are possible. Alfman males have a heightened healing factor than their females, recovering quicker from various wounds due to the males being more inclined to be warriors. This is an obsolete way of thinking, as men and women are often required to perform military service and trained in martial techniques. Some believe men are just more prone to violence, so they had to evolve to recover quicker. Or, as some Alfman have come to call this, the 'Survival Failsafe'.
