There's a front page? I have my gallery bookmarked and come in through it. Through the notifications, I see all I want to.

There was a time where it was a great way to discover new artists. But this is not just about the frontpage.
It's hard to get views here. For 5 years I've been commenting and faving other peoples art and sharing my work in groups and forum and my posts are still dying after 24 hours. After that I get like 5 views per week.
Look at this post for example. I got 59 favs and I had to post it in 40+ groups which takes a lot of my time. The same post on Instagram got me 600+ likes and it is still going up 3 days after it is posted. Maybe it's just luck too.

A lot of it depends on the subject matter. When I was doing my Trek fan project "Nova Trek" the numbers climbed like crazy with every post of a render or a story. But since I moved on to other stories and projects, the numbers haven't been as high right off the bat. It's taking longer to get good numbers- which is kind of to be expected with projects that outsiders don't know.

Agreed. The fan stuff is fun, but you want to do original stuff, too. "Nova TreK" served as my training ground, so it wasn't a wasted project- and I still managed to tell good stories, too.
