In the wake of the Alchemy Wars, arcane fallout has made much of the world a ruined landscape covered in mutamagic clouds. Only the dragons, who are resistant to the effects of the mutamagic, dare venture outside the protected settlements to gather supplies and scavenge for materials...but resistant isn't the same as immune, and any dragon that wanders on many expeditions finds its body inevitably twisted and altered.
