I don't think anybody actually thinks he's gay. I'd say he's bi-curious, at best--but realistically, in a game this old, probably the entire cast is straight. No matter! In fanon you can believe whatever you want to believe, even if it is completely incorrect. That's why it's fun!
But anyways Erol really does say a lot of inappropriate things to Jak. It's fun to twist his words.

Erol is a walking innuendo, anything he does, everything he says. I literally broke out laughing when he yelled "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE SPEED" whilst doing that annoying ass useless racing bet that, I'm pretty sure, was there for the sake of watching people fly as you skin past them.
