Half of that is right. But I don't actually see many people who are willing to work with Earth like a superorganism. Most people are still just caught up in their own concerns.

i like to simplify this by saying: "The world is mine"
please note that the first reaction to that phrase will mostly be 'NO ITS NOT' or 'SAYS WHO?', ha yea like some person could GIVE the earth. I live here, its MINE. BUT what those people focus on is the 'possession' and 'ownership of property'. i dont own it, no one single person can OWN it, but it is mine. and the other thing: i didnt say it wasnt yours as well. who says two people cant claim something is theirs? or three? or seven billion? but you cant think of it that way because it isnt personal, it isnt 'I wont destroy MY world slowly by being an idiot' we currently think of it as 'I WILL TAKE CARE OF MY TINY PIECE OF THIS PLANET AND DO WHATEVER I WANT WITH IT AND LET THE HIPPIES DEAL WITH THAT SAVE THE EARTH CRAP' as someone "else's" problem.

Agreed. But perhaps a better way to say it would be that "The world is my home. I LIVE here. Stop trashing the place!"
