I did a quick environment breakdown tutorial thingy and then decided the results wasn't too bad so threw some colour onto it and am gonna hand it in for my 'understanding colour' class
It may appear quite dark.... having trouble calibrating my screens to be the same - such a pain in the arse.
Took about... 3-4 hours in total i guess, trying to be loose, so it looks better from a distance :'P

Very Turner -esque, very nice! The tutorial was definitely helpful. Backgrounds are deceivingly difficult, but I think you've got the technique down!

possibly a little dark like you said, but i think it helps add a bit of mystery and intrigue to the picture. me likey

Thank yoou, Yep i do agree... my monitor calibration is all over teh place at the moment, i'll brighten it up.
