as for the lion it looks like huge cat because of the proportions - slightly too big head, body a bit too short and way too big belly, I also don't like the background because it is completly flat - there's no difference of first and last plan, and why is that? when you try to make something darker you use black and for the parts in light you simply add white. Those colors flatterns every image if used uncorectly. My hint is to use yellow/warm colors in parts with light and more intense/blue colors for darker parts. Also read about air perspective and color mixing because of air and its color.
