I'm really proud of this piece. It started out as a photostudy with the girl, which then evolved into a piece with the lioness and the girl together and has now finnaly evolved into my first full scene.

Though i'm still up for editting if anyone spots any faults,
As always comments and criticism are welcome.

Photoshop CS4, Wacom Cintiq 12wx, lost track of the time..



[EDIT] Thanks to some criticism i have altered the colouring of the image slightly which i think makes it pop more, looking less flat. There is a lot more i could do to improve the image as it is still looking a bit flat, but i'm going to leave this one as it is for now.

O.o -jaw drop- um one word. AMAZING. It's SO beautiful and the way the two are just walking together like they are totally use to each other (even though one is a huge lion) is amazing! It looks strait out of a movie!!!

You must have had fun doing this on a Cintiq, right? BTW how the little girl is detailed -- clothes, shades -- immediately takes the focus towards her. Dunno if that was the intention.

Yup it is all painted, i've had some critique about the anatomy not being perfect on it, but you cant always get things perfect right?

as for the lion it looks like huge cat because of the proportions - slightly too big head, body a bit too short and way too big belly, I also don't like the background because it is completly flat - there's no difference of first and last plan, and why is that? when you try to make something darker you use black and for the parts in light you simply add white. Those colors flatterns every image if used uncorectly. My hint is to use yellow/warm colors in parts with light and more intense/blue colors for darker parts. Also read about air perspective and color mixing because of air and its color.
