Finally they made it to the right show hall. The young girl was holding the rope tightly and she looked around. She was nearly shaken with nervousity, just waiting for the cunning stallion next to her to go crazy again. After an entire day of washing him, brushing him and making him pretty, she had been worried how he’d behave once they came there.

Nobody liked Jeff. Nobody really enjoyed being around him. She was no exception. He had tried to bite her several times. And one time he succeeded. She never wanted anything to do with him. But she was asked so nicely if she could enter the halter show with Jeff. She couldn’t say no.

(Jeff’s p.o.v)
Why would they drag me here? I’ve been trying to avoid it all day. I hate wearing a halter. I hate being handled. Silly girl. She’s been trying so hard. But she yelled at me. I bit her. I’m not sorry. Silly girl.

It was time to get started. She started walking and tried to gently lead Jeff in the right direction. The judges were looking. She immediately felt Jeff’s resistance.

Let me go!

As Jeff started pulling the rope and backing, she tried to hold him and the situation got desperate for her.

There’s no way I’m walking. Let me go!

“Come on, Jeff” she whispered to the horse. He stopped backing and froze. He looked at her. Was that a grin?

Silly girl.

She ended up crying and Jeff felt a little bad for her so he decided to walk after all He even stopped, bent his neck and stood in a nearly perfect square And then he stepped on her when they were done. Maybe there’s hope for him after all? Probably not.

Wohoo! Drawn with a tablet! And my eyes didn’t hurt. Much.
