Description MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T WATCHED THIS SHOW YET!

First of all, to all my fellow Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! fans (my fellow Antauri fangirls, especially)... I AM SO SORRY FOR MAKING THIS!

For the past few days, I've been rewatching episodes of SRMTHFG, especially the 4 episodes that fans have taken to calling "The I, Chiro Saga" ("Antauri's Masters", "I, Chiro", and "The Savage Lands, parts 1 & 2").

And while watching the Season 2 finale, "I, Chiro", THIS traumatizing little scene came up.

And I recalled the first time I ever watched this episode (which was about 8 or 9 years ago! God, I feel old...). My face pretty much mirrored Chiro's when I first saw that scene... *shudders* I don't know about you guys, but this was the moment that I wanted Mandarin to SUFFER!

So, the tiny sadomasochistic part of my brain was like, "Hey! This would make a hell of a demotivational poster!"

...What is wrong with me?

All that aside, I hope you guys at least find a little humor in this.

Oh yeah, Super Robot Monkey Team certainly had some harsh moments for sure! Such an underrated and not-well-known show that deserves more love.


A lot of people I know thought of it as a Dollar-Store Power Rangers knockoff, but it's really not like your typical Power Rangers-like show. I mean like for one, the episodes tended to vary a lot more and aren't so repetitive (i.e. their Super Robot, their equivalent of the Megazord, isn't always the solution to their problems), and the characters go through quite a bit (i.e. Chiro finding out his personal heroes, the Sun Riders, were really bad guys, and such). Plus, the bad guys not always being like some Monster Of The Week sent by Skeleton King and having unique backstories (i.e. Skeleton King being an Alchemist who got corrupted, Scraperton being a cyberneticist who became so engrossed withΒ greed and mechanization thatΒ he surgically replaced every part of his body with cybernetics, and more).

And it had stuff like THIS in it too! Not what your typical Power Rangers-like show would have.

EXACTLY. Yes, there are some similarities to Power Rangers, but unlike that show, it wasn't as formulaic. There were a lot of deep emotional moments, complex and interesting characters (both hero and villain alike), and a lot of dark scenes that were genuinely scary.

You know one thing i never could decide, didn't Chiro have a closer relationship with Antauri when he came back? Like i thought i saw Antauri as more... protective of Chiro. Unless i am mistaking, am i the only one who thinks this? XD

And the best part it. After the article I read that was interview with Ciro Neili this year, he confirmed he would return to the show hopefully soon. He swore he will give it the ending it deserves.

Ah yes glad I am not the only one xD my friend argued with me saying he was not AS close to black antauri. agreed with that, till after he became silver antauri. Lol

I think my favorite relationship is the father/son between Antauri and Chiro. I personally wonder if he would would show any full reaction if something happened to Chiro.Β

One could only imagine the nightmares Chiro had after that despite Antauri coming back. Remember how freaked out he was when he saw Mandarin in the Dark One's body? You can definitely tell he was deathly afraid of Manadarin after what he did.
