When everybody dreams of pixies I dream of you,The puffiness under your eyes,
Making your smiles always so pretty,
And the sincere love in your eyes that makes me ever so happy.
It could have been your lovely voice,
Or the very act of whispering that took my heart.
Whispers of everything I ever wanted there to be,
Betraying everything I needed you to see.
And no one should let true love sift through their fingers like dreams,
Because it's just too preciously rare these days,
Unlike all the infatuations in the world,
And the unending love I have for you.

I have to think that the line would refer to the fact of someone doing something that they shouldn't have done (making a serious relationship ending mistake) and getting caught.

Perhaps, that person wanted the other to see the facade that they don't want the relationship, but the whispered thoughts of "I ever wanted there to be" proves that the person's desires to be together they've been hiding has been exposed, thus their facade was betrayed : P

yeah true love has nothing dark about it. Everything dark comes from the human self interest, greed, and other more personal dark sides people rarely blame on when it comes to hurtful consequences.

yeah, i agree. Although i have what is considered little experience in loving someone. (one girlfriend which was a long distance 8 month relationship)I do believe in what you said there. If not for people's interests and whatnot love would be flawless. but... forgot you're in the chat

"betraying everything i needed you to see"...since i never answered your question above.. i could see this meaning a couple things. the vulnerability of someone knowing you almost better than you know yourself, or perhaps letting yourself be truly who you are with that one person, by choice or simply because you're so relaxed in the relationship that it becomes second nature, thereby betraying any charades we put on to impress our love interest.

As for what "Betraying everything I needed you to see" might mean in this context, I think it's dual. You need to let your feelings show, and at the same time you need to be open to read all those things that your partner can't put words on. Love can be expressed in so many ways, and it's when it goes beyond the words that you know it's real!
