Thanks, mate. I was thinking it'd make a good earring; the green jewel would fit right over the lobe and the thinner part, naturally, hugs the outside of the ear pointing up.

Yes, I think you need to heat metal and cut gems, or accomodate pre-cut gems.
And yes, I'm planning to take it up.
