So, is this more like what it actually looked like to the naked eye? Β Does the camera itself make the photos seem more saturated than real life? Β My more ordinary cameras don't capture the saturated tones and I have to adjust them upwards, not downwards, to match what I saw with my eyes.

Yes - I've noticed that whenever I shoot something with reds, my camera automatically seems to over saturate the reds in the scene (even in RAW format which washes out a scene, normally). I did enhance the wood grain in the wharf, but this is as close as I could get to my memory of what it looked like at the moment I took it.

Good to know. It puts me off HD photography that it tends to oversaturate the colors, making reality "pale in comparison"...our eyes get spoiled by it and so we see a spectacular sunset in real life and instead of appreciating the awesome work of our Creator, Β we remember photographs which are becoming commonplace where sunsets are even more spectacular and wonder, where are they that They managed to see that or did they change the photos to make them more commercial and attention grabbing? Β I prefer reality while I'm down here. I understand the colors are very vibrant and vivid in heaven, but that it doesn't hurt our eyes there...

Such a stunning looking sky and a wonderful wharf drawing the eye out into the colours that are there.

A great shot - the low level of the timber walkway and railings accentuate the "natural" surroundings.. To get sunsets like this is really a blessing... Lucky you - and lucky us that you have the care to take and share....

This is amazing! I can't believe you had to reduce the saturation, it must've been absolutely divine to see. I wish I could've seen it for myself. The angle of the picture also really helps, because the walkway seems to mimic the curve of the clouds! It feels like it keeps everything in motion, great work!

Beautiful. I rode through there on the Tour du Canada. It's actually on my list for potential places to settle down.

Now all I need to do is convince my girlfriend to move out there. That's going to be tricky.
