Standing tall amongst your kind, only to crash, never to shine. A shield amongst, oh so many, now dinner, feeding plenty. For once upon a time, you looked upon the lovely sky. But now you lay down below, decomposing very slow. Among your friends that gave you zeal, just look down on you, another meal.
Trees, such cannibals.

Ingenious poem, I've never thought of trees as cannibals
