Description I've been slowly going through my RAID and cracking open unfinished projects with the intention of either trashing them or wrapping them up and came up on this one last weekend which was aptly named 'Spacegirl.' I believe it was created in Vue 5 Infinite many years ago, but was rendered at a ridiculously small 800 x 800 px and while the render appeared to have some issues, the overall image was intriguing, so I cracked it open in Vue 6 Infinite and gave it a look. The space girl mesh was pretty jacked looking and a few of the textures were missing, but I persevered and rendered it out as originally setup, though this time at a more respectable 6000 x 6000 px. Sure enough, the mesh was jacked, but nothing a little (or a lot) of Photoshop couldn't fix, so I tore into the render and began overpainting the hell out of her with additional texturing, painted hair details and a little rocket booster fire for some added drama. I painted over the rest of the scene with additional textures and while I was at it and while not perfect, I've gotta say I'm pretty pleased with how she turned out and am glad I didn't toss this one before giving it a second look.

On another note, anyone know where the spacegirl mesh came from? I could have swore I got her from a freebie disc on 3D World or something similar, but after all these years, who knows? Thanks for looking!

**** EDIT: For those wanting to see the original render, I've tossed it up on my server for your viewing pleasure: [link] As stated, the mesh and many of it's textures have some issues, but it will give you a pretty good idea of how much overpainting was done on this one. ****

I could actually see this being on another world with those colors you have used.

I believe that was the free H.E.R. made by the quite accomplished Pascal Blanche . You actually got pretty close to the exact pose he put H.E.R. in before he gave her to the Poser community. On Sixus1, IIRC.

This is really lovely. The colors rock.

Do you have the original small piece? I would love to see that before and after!

I love this. The light, the dynamics of it, everything is just wicked cool. And that touch of red lipstick. Jupp that does it for me.

The base outfit looks like it might be Mech Girl from DAZ [link] . I don't recognize the gloves and collar, though.

Thanks, you're probably right. The whole mesh - girl and clothing - was baked together, so it's a mystery, but I had forgotten about that outfit, so thanks for the reminder

This is really sweet, your re-render and overpaint was totally worth the time spent Vue is a ton of fun to work with, I just wish it didn't crash so often (although that might be my fault).

Thanks for the kind words And yes, Vue is a rather skittish piece of software to say the least, especially if you're a Mac user, but I've learned to know it's quirks and have for the most part gotten pretty good at working around them.
