Description So last night I watched this commentary from MangaKamen about a garbage Digibro (remember him bronies? I wish I could say the same ) video where he rants about Mario Odyssey's graphics.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQ1YOP…
I'm linking the video cause the whole thing is a pretty good watch, but it's near the end of it that I really want to talk about. MangaKamen states that Digi disliking the way Mario Odyssey looks isn't the problem as he does have the right to do so, but it's more so the bizarre logic behind Digi's reason for disliking it. What MangaKamen said is pretty much the exact reason why a lot of Sonic fans like myself criticize the other fans for all their bad actions. See a lot of those fans claim we're only calling them out only because we disagree with their opinions or get triggered for them wanting the series to do better. Well for most of us that's not true in the slightest, heck I can't speak for everybody, but there are a bunch of Sonic fans like this that I actually do agree with their opinions, just not the reasoning behind it or how they try to express it. See it's perfectly fine to have an opinion that isn't the same as most others, but if the reason why you think it is bad, or you choose the worst possible ways to express them, then people are going to call you out for it.

Like let's take this post from the SA3 facebook (boy sure has been a while since we've brought these guys up) that complains about Team Sonic Racing, or more specifically this one sprite of Sonic which you can see in the meme right above the description.
www.facebook.com/SonicAdventur…

The reasoning why the admin who says this is well pretty much what you'd expect from these guys, just shouting out how "lame" this is and just acting like they're getting pissed over a sprite work (like even if that wasn't their intention, their expression still makes it seem that's the case). Naturally there are some in the comments that are saying they're overreacting over it, which has once again caused some of the members of the group to claim those people are only "triggered" that they are calling out bullshit when they see it ... no. If all they said was "This art looks like shit", then people probably wouldn't really care what they think, it's the way went on about how terrible it looks, and how they've been treating others that try to defend it that's getting people on their case. Now I'm not saying that they can't try and back up their reasoning why they think it looks bad, cause like having the opinion itself, they do have the right to do so. However like MangaKamen also says in his video, if people think the logic behind your reasoning is bizarre, or you're making the thing you dislike out to be the worst thing ever, then those other people also have the right to question you for it. Also one last thing about this post, I just got to love how complaining about a sprite is apparently good to do, but others telling those same people to take it easy, no they're clearly the bad guys here, and it only proves my point here even further.  Real Mature

Now on to the people who only want better for Sonic. Now these people really only deserve to get called out for the "How they do it" part, cause the reasoning behind their desire is fine, there's nothing really wrong with wanting to see a series you like do better. However those people act like wanting Sonic to do better somehow grants them a right to do anything they want, like constantly ranting about the thing they hate, or calling others who disagree with them ... Anyway if people think you're being a jackass over your mission to get the Sonic you loved back, then instead of sympathizing with you, they're going to do the common sense thing to do and call you out for your bullshit. Like imagine if I wanted a local orphanage that was really old to be able to be renovated into something much better, So I decided to rob a bank so I can get the orphanage the money it needs. Now if the cops come up to me and I tell them that I'm only robbing the bank so the orphanage can do better, what do you think they're going to do?
A) Let me take all the money and give it to the orphanage?
or
B) Arrest me and give all the money back to the bank and not let any of the orphanage have it?
If you picked B then no shit, just because my intentions are good, that doesn't make my crime free from punishment. Now the things those Sonic fans do aren't that extreme obviously, but they still seem to have the mindset that because they're passionate about Sonic and only want what they think is best for the series, that means they can say and do anything they want, the way they want to do it, all without consequences. Well it's a real shame that's not how the world works since if people think the way you're trying to get your message about Wanting a better Sonic across is terrible, then they can and mostly likely will call you out for it, regardless if they actually agree with you or not.

My point is it's not what's being said that's the problem, it's how and why it's being said. Like if I agreed with someone on X Sonic game, but felt the reason why that someone thinks that way is stupid or the way he's expressing his opinion sounds egotistical, then I'm going to call them out for it, not because of their opinion, but because of everything surrounding the opinion. And I know there are those trolls that will berate you for your opinion no matter what you say, but they still shouldn't act like anyone who tries to tell them to calm down is just some troll that's hating on them for just their opinion alone.

Uh, can you edit by making your points in paragraphs? Like, just create a spacing between your paragraphs that's it. I can't read like this sorry.

Well my points were in paragraphs, but if not spacing them made you have trouble reading it then sorry about that. Should be easier to read now.

It's funny because of their overall perspective.  People believe their honestly looking at it from a company's view point when they really don't.

Example 1.) Fans Vs. Official Devs.

A lot of fan projects like Utopia, SMBZ, or even Generations/Forces mods and hacks don't have much of a deadline as far as we know.  Fans can give themselves a lot of time on something, whereas a company has to deal with deadlines and work 24/7 to make sure everything is correct.  Delaying a game is an option, but depending on the project, it could mean jack shit.  Yet, people tend to ignore that, and bow to the fans as "The voice of reason."  It's one reason why I felt offended towards Adventurous Advocate when he came off as a "big shot" over his disappointment over the Episode Shadow DLC.  As someone whose interested in going into this field and wants to make a Good Sonic Game, Do I come off as an arrogant prick because I'm a fan and not a part of Sonic Team?  NO!  Not everyone will agree with one's ideas on what makes a REAL Sonic game.  Same applies to those who express their feelings, as much as they want to deny it, so they can get a turn at sucking cooperate dick harder than someone trying to slurp a Wendy's triple thick shake with a straw, Y'know, that thing TSS and Psyco call us out doing right now?  I apologize for the foul comparison, but we both know damn well that it's the truth.  Given their love for the games before 2010 because of the story alone, it's kind of pathetic to me.

Example 2.) Forces Development.

People need to understand that going back to the boost formula for that game was actually a smart move in theory since nobody cared for Lost World's style and the last successful boost game was Sonic Generations.  Hell, the game actually took 3 years to develop.

twitter.com/andrearitsu/status…

And this person has had experience as developer.  Considering the financial flops of the 3 exclusive games on the Wii U, Sega was clearly on a budget.  By the time Mania came out with it's high praise and sales, it was probably too late and had to let go a few essential members without thinking.  Forces had the right idea at least, since it went back to a more beloved style that was recent.  It wasn't great in execution, but like I said, in THEORY.

Example 3.) Remakes

It's funny how SA3 compared Team Sonic Racing to Spyro of all things, when Spyro is coming out with the Reignited Trilogy in a few months. (I'm fucking excited for it btw.) Considering some Adventure twats complaints about the nostalgia pandering in Mania, they fail to realize that giving the Adventure games the N Sane Trilogy Treatment is the best option for bringing it back since N Sane Trilogy was successful and revived Crash as a whole. OOPS!  Funny enough, this is the only thing I agree with "Monkey D Straw Hat Luffy" on youtube.
Here's a link to an older discussion of mine:

All in all, I agree with this post of yours.  The intentions are there with some, but does it justify their actions?  Of course not.

It's insane as to how many people agree with these pretentious assholes, who believe that they're the savior of the franchise.  Sega might have made some huge incompetent moves in the past, but it'll be this fanbase.  We know how bad Forces got when it was being shown and we know that people are willing to give 06's unbelievably shit story credit and love out of pure hatred towards the games past 2010.  Looking at the comments on J's Reviews video or any of TSS and Psyco's memes, nobody is allowed to be open minded since the very few who disagree with the post are the ones getting slammed.  With Team Sonic Racing approaching soon, it shows that not only is the close minded nature is becoming a lot more wrong, it's becoming dangerous.  It's not even going to be made by Sonic Team, but I guess the Forces Wound is still strong since nobody is giving the game a chance.

The future is looking rather bleak for this series and if this keeps going, then it might not last much longer.

I won't be pissed that the series will die alone since there's still a lot of good to come out of it, yes even the bad games, and any series can be revived.  I'll be pissed that the fans, including us, will be a huge contributor to the downfall, and that is seriously depressing.
