I'll start by saying it's not a bad picture, it does catch the kid being cute and having fun. Now, my three issues are focus, composition and color.

Focus is the big one. It looks like the shot focused more on the seat than the girl. Maybe the camera just missed it, maybe there's a bit of cropping going on and it's showing the imperfections of the camera sensor, maybe there was just too much editing overall. In any case it doesn't seem sharp and, I feel, detracts from the image as a whole.

Composition is something I still struggle with so I catch myself noticing it a lot more in others photographs. In this case you were a bit too low and cut off the top of the head. It may have been due to the swing itself but I would have preferred a bit more head room. Centering the subject is not a turn-off for me like it is some people, but the 'Rule of Thirds' would have put her a bit more to one side or the other. I would also mention the smile and not looking at the camera but sometimes, with children, it's more a case of getting what you can. (Still, that smile should have been out in the open! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/> )

The last is color, a subjective bit but it looks like some kind of filter was applied. With no EXIF data to tell what the shot settings were I can't tell if it's the camera or the editing. This I will say is my own opinion, others mileage may vary.

Overall, I see what you were going for in the shot but I feel you missed it in this one. Still, she had fun and that's the important thing.
