oh dear, i'm just happy you like her. i was concerned about the colors. my original intent was red and black with accents of white. but...the purple hair just was an experiment and i loved the idea.
I'm pleased you like her. honestly the more i colored her the more i fell in love with her and thought about where on my skin she'd fit.

OOOOH THANK YOU! you know how much your thoughts mean to me. i'm happy you like it. i just LOVED that sketch, and i knew i could have fun coloring it.

i can't wait til she sees it. she hasn't been online yet, but... i'm way excited to see her reaction to it!

The trick is...it isn't at all like traditional techniques...(for me anyway)
This one has 24 layers. Took me 2 1/2 hours. Its only the 5th digital painting I've done. I learn more with each one. Like...the importance of layers! I can't stress it enough.

Holy Moley! The thing with me is, I'm used to using the layers for manip work but when I draw or paint. I revert to the mind set of using a piece of paper, a canvas, a wall or a scrap of hard board or whatever else I can scribble on. I completely forget I can use transparent layers. If I had that for walls my graffiti would have been deadly.

thank you. i haven't done many digital paintings, so i'm certainly hoping someone critiques it a bit. i don't learn well following tutorials, but...if someone says "hey, you should do ...." then sometimes it sinks in a bit easier.

i am a HUGE tim burton fan. and as much as i wish my work to look less like his, unfortunately you can see his influence in alot of the things i do. I have a drawing i've yet to upload just because of how Burton-esque it turned out. its fun, but...yeah, i don't want people thinking i'm trying to copy his stuff. us artists are sooooo picky some days.

Oh I don't think it comes off like you're trying to copy his style of anything, it's just remniscent of it, but it's totally all your own So I say keep going with it
