I decided to draw her in honor of today's MLP season 5 premiere!It was fast and I mostly did her by memory. ^____^

Starlight Glimmer: *sigh* Fluttercord had fun with Applejack and Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash and Rarity and Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle felt left out, she felt jealous, she realized her mistake and apologized, and it was all a watered down version of what happened at this year's Grand Galloping Gala...why do I have to keep doing this?
The Mistress: In order to complete your mission, you must be prepared for anything. That means following Twilight Sparkle's every move.
Starlight Glimmer: Fair enough. If it's for the mission, I'll keep spying on them.
The Mistress: The time will soon come when we will be able to put the master plan in motion. You must be patient until then.

It was a good premier and I have to agree that she was a pretty good villain for the show without being considered like Overpowered villain class. I also enjoyed the other characters they introduced in the episodes too. Had to be the most male characters in the background I've ever seen anywhere on the show besides Guards.

Was there anypony other than me that liked the way she never actually got defeated, just ran ofscreen?

I actually did too, cause it means that we'll be seeing her again in the Season 5 finale.
Having a villain be fought twice within the same season is certainly a first for the show.
(Plus, there's the matter of the whole "Cutie Mark Magic" line. Β If the Mane Six are going to get secondary power-up forms related to Cutie Marks, then it should be to help defeat a villain who steals them.)

I don't like the idea that she comes back, especially if they redeem her!
It's like the movie Maleficent, Maleficent from sleeping beauty was a great villain, don't try to make her a good guy, or girl-fairy-thingy

Well, it appears that she will return; the writers hinted at it on Twitter.

(They tend to point out important stuff like that; remember when Megan McCarthy alerted us to the "key hint"(the rainbow shine) back when "Rarity Takes Manehattan" aired?)
And even though the Dazzlings ran away, they were completely defeated by that point; thanks to the Mane Six(and Sunset)'s Element Powers, they couldn't cause any more magical trouble.
Starlight, on the other hand...in the premiere, she hardly-if ever-used her magic offensively. Β Considering how she managed to steal Twilight(an Alicorn)'s Cutie Mark...this leads me to believe that she was holding back.
And you have to admit, there's still so much we don't know about her, namely why she thinks the way she does.
(Although it's highly possible that she was bullied as a filly; it's implied in some of her lines)
But above all:
*Season 5 signature toy line: "Cutie Mark Magic"
*"Cutie Mark Magic" appears to be a power-up much like Rainbow Power
*Starlight Glimmer: Has the ability to steal Cutie Marks
*As we know, Hasbro has a habit of slightly spoiling the season finales with their toylines

that is an interesting point, especially that she can steal cutie marks. Her normal Power is not more than a powerfull unicorn, but cutie mark thievery?

it's just that I like the way a villain never gets defeated, but rather runs of screen with all of their powers, like Amon from legend of Korra

But the last scene shows his brother (forgot his name) use the equalizer gloves on the engine of the boat, and it explodes, killing them both. I couldn't believe it at first either, but everywhere I read it says they died.

Not the most interesting MLP villain, but certainly a powerful and sinister one. She was able to steal an alicorn's cutie mark, so she shouldn't be taken lightly. I'll wait for her return with mixed feelings.

Best part is how she's still out there. Hopefully she comes back in some form, especially I'd love to know why she decided to form a cult based on "the nail that stands out gets hammered down".
