So, this my entry for the group. The theme for the contest was to go with one word, and that word was COLOR.Anyway, I decided to go with Frankie because she is my favorite. And she is forever wearing my favorite color. Blue, blue, blue, blue, BLUE! So naturally I went with red for the theme.
This is my second time doing a contest entry, they're pretty fun. So I will probably do more in the future.

I usually don't comment on doll photos but for you Jade I'll make an exception
I do like the use of a creative backround. So many doll photos that seem totally blan an unoriginal going around dA.
Funny is that I actually don't usually like blue and green as a color combo but it works really well on people like Frankie (Maybe that's why Swampy insists on wearing so much of the darn color ><)
I think you used it really well here though! The background is really nice and active but without being overly active or too crowded.
You also managed to get a great range of blues in the picture as well. I don't think enough people know how to use the full poteintal of a color. (I'm certainly guilty of it myself) Surely this picture wouldn't have been near as interesting if you used say, only two tones of color.
Anyhoo moving on to Frankie. I love her pose. Sorry to insert a mini rant into my comment but another thing I hate about random doll photos on dA is that people seem determined to put all the ghouls in depressing or emo poses, to make the pic deep or something I guess.
This pose however actually seems energetic! I just wish that the doll could smile as widely as I feel Frankie would is someone took her picture like that.
In any case, this picture really stands out from the rest, and is actually interesting to look at unlike all the other crap. Good luck in the contest Jade, I'll be rooting for you!

Well I did the background and the pose like I did since Frankie is electric powered; I didn't want to give her boring pose, I wanted her to look lively, peppy like she actually is! I mean she's meant to be athletic, outgoing, bright eyed and bushy tailed, so I went with something that just sort of screamed "Hello World! here I am!" I am glad it managed to do what I intended.
And Oh My Gosh. Doing single color pictures annoys me but I always seem stuck doing them. My senior high school art project was a painting done in all blue. I really like blue. Photoshop makes it world easier to capture a number of blues as opposed to painting. So much paint to mix. @_@

I think you captured frankie's personality really well. I love that girl for all of her charged up, ready to go, energy, and I do believe that her pose definitely gets the "Hello world! Here I am!" message across.
Gah! Colors, they burn my soul! >< I love the little bugger I do (I mean our world would be completely gray without them right?) but they are so friggin hard to work with. Although one thing I am happy about is that I've learn a ton since entering the MH fandom, most likely because I spent countless hours staring at monster high art trying to learn what made them so damn appealing. It's always those little details, the ones you spend hours on but no one ever notices until they're not there. I think you're really good with those though. All your stuff looks well thought out and like there was actual effort put into it.
Of course I'm rooting for you! What're friends for.

Thank you! I honestly just start off doing what comes to mind. I knew I wanted that pose but everything else took me a while to determine how and where I wanted it. I just knew it needed lightning and Frankie at her best. I'm glad you like it so much!

I hate most doll photos cuz they're so damn random but I appreiate a well thought out one.
le sigh, if only I could pull things together the way you do... I never know what I'm doing when I put a pencil on some paper. XD

Most of my doll photos come to me while I am at work. I get in at 4AM and I am pretty much by myself for 3 hours. SO I just think of art/OC/photo/story ideas while I mix dough. ^^

Oh man we can't through this fandom without punning it up can we? I always go into doing a single color scheme picture thinking- this is going to be easy! It's just one color. And I always forget how annoying ONE color can be to work with. Even though the contest said we could do multiple, felt it should be one....
