Hello, there haven't been any good deviations i have wanted to critique, and so i come back to those whom i have already critiqued, and see if they have requested critiques on anything new. You haven't requested a critique on anything yet, maybe you did, but i was just a bit late, however if you ever want me to critique something, let me know, i write critiques for my own sake too, and the only reason i haven't done any since is because i haven't found any thing i want to critique. Without your permission, i think i will go ahead and give you some feed back.
It is, at first, very calm and mild to look at, then, i notice some things that catch my attention. The light coming from the trees are so good, they are amazing. They are so amazing in fact that compared to the other side, the other side looks dull and uninteresting. The blue section of the forest between the red and yellow, is something, but not entirely enough. There is also the dark blue corner of the sky to give attention to, but those streams of light are hypnotizing. Because you made them so long, it really gives the whole picture a whole lot of depth. Inn fact, with the sun so far down, i think they could have been a bit longer. The angle might be a bit of, but either it isn't or it's very little. The water is beautifully done too, but at one part in the lake is a bit darker that the rest. That kind of looks like a wave, but it, if it is a wave, is very big. You say you are new to oil painting and acrylic (what ever that is) and so that might be a small mistake.
You color usage is very good, but something is a bit odd, not necessarily bad but odd. The water, grass, sky and as strange as it might, the sun, is very cold. The light however, is very warm. The trees, and the section of grass that the light touches, becomes all warm and nice. It might symbolize some people, the way that they look kind and warm, but in reality, once you see what really is the source of their kindness, maybe, why they were being so kind, they fall apart and reveal their true intentions. It's not a good deed if you do it for your own sake.
This is as much feedback i think i will give you on something you haven't requested critique on, but please feel free to ask me for feed back if you'd like. It might take some time, as i might be having things to do in school, but if i won't finish it, i'll try to remember to let you know.

Yeah... lately i have so little time in art, so i rush into everything and forgot to activate the critique...
Β
the left part supposed to be a frozen body of water.
And yeah, about the color's odd i got that feeling too when i finished this piece. I tend to use colors as i go, not really planning anything. But I'm great it works
I know what you mean. I'm an idealist and tend to view people that way, too. Once I know they're fake, I won't give them a second look..
It's great to know that you enjoy writing critiques, and I enjoy accepting them! I'll let you know when i ask for one.Β
Thank you so much for this! I really appreciate it.

Β Sorry for the late reply. Dry canvas means just what you said, canvas that has been treated only with gesso.Β Its dry before you start applying the paint. Wet canvas means that small amount of medium has been coated over the whole canvas or only the parts. Medium such as linseed oil mixed with turpentine. It makes things like painting skies or portraits even easier.

I really love the colour you used on this. it brings it out and gives it a bit of a fantasy glow to it and yet something you can see in real. I guess you could say, it plays upon that boundary between the two worlds very well. Great job.

What a marvellous landscape! The colours are beautiful. Did you draw it from reality, photo or is it just your imagination?

I want to paint this kind of landscape when I see a view from Discovery TLC.
It's only a few secs but I can't get the image and colors out of my head.Β
I search for some reference to get the details at least close to recreate the view.
I'm not lucky enough to have this view nearby, since i live in the city, but I'm really glad you like it. Thank you
