Description I've been trying to come up with a good design for a snowflake with flowers and butterflies. I love how this one lookes, the overall shape of it, but the butterfies apparently look like spiders(so says my husband, anyhow), and I thought the intended recipiant, who doesn't really like creepy crawly things, might not like spidery butterflies, so I changed the design a little for the final version (which I am not going to post till after she gets it)...so the details and the quality of the cutting is alot better on the final version, but I think the overall layout of this one was prettier oh well. perhaps I shall send her both of them.

this is cut from newsprint, so it's also kind fragile, not sure if it would survive mailing.

but isn't the overall shape of it pretty?

yeah, i think this rough draft was prettier than the final one I sent to Helen. oh well. I might do another one, and try to get closer to this shape.

na, it's really easy once you learn the basics, and it's easy to come up with a good looking patern if you know what it works...it's like a Kalidascope. anything looks cool if you look at it through a kalidascope

it does have a really pretty shape yes do you use scissors or a craft knife to cut these?

I did finally clean the office and find my knife,

I do all the outside cuts with scissors, cause it's faster and I am more skilled with scissors, but the inside cuts I did with a knife....the parts that are not on the fold on this flake were cut with a knife.

using the knife takes much much longer because I can't cut through all the layers of paper at one time.
