Species Description: A familiar of a demon is a demonic creature that has been tamed and now serves a demon with high power. Demon familiars draw most of their power from their masters but can cast spells independently as well - though the power of the spell will be weaker.
Abilities:
Shadow Walk - This allows the user to travel/jump a distance from one shadow to another. It is useful to use to escape dire situations but can only be cast on the user and in a shadowed area. It can’t be used where there is light. This ability expends a lot of the caster’s energy so it’s only recommended to be used in dire situations.
Regenerative Healing - limited to healing minor wounds and sometimes bone fractures. Healing speed increases when in shadow and slows in light. A fracture may take 20 minutes to heal in the shadows but in light it may take 40 minutes.

cats | he finds the creatures behaviour to be quite amusing, the way they act quite arrogant but also needy and the same time. and he has developed a liking in watching their tails.
shadows | as a familiar who can’t really stay in the light and relies on the darkness, sixx finds comfort in the shadows as he feels safe and at home.
autumn | he has a love for the season as the days aren’t too cold nor warm, and also due to the fact the sun seems to set earlier.
instrumental music | especially ones featuring the violin and piano, it calms him and reminds him of home. ‘isn’t this the serenade master use to play?’
his master | sixx has absolute loyalty to his master. though it doesn’t always seem like the case, sixx is willing to lay down his life at his master’s very command.
stars | he admires the tiny dots in sky as they do not succumb to the darkness so easily. ‘so beautiful and strong…’
cacti | like the stars, sixx is impressed by the survival capabilities of these desert plants. he often wonders how something so beautiful could be also so deadly.
Dislikes:
light | it’s his greatest weakness. though he can be in it, it drains his energy, if he spends too long in the light, one can find him exhausted, aggressive or even passed out.
violence | having to protect his master and having fought countless battles, sixx wishes for a day he wouldn’t have to shed anymore blood. ‘i wish to rest master.’
sweets | he can’t stand sweets. his master had a sweet tooth and he is scarred for life.
summer | it’s hot and sunlight is everywhere, the sun rises earlier and sets later. this is not his season.
butterflies | what do they do? why do they exist? sixx never understood why butterflies where a thing. since he can’t comprehend it, it seemed logical to him that he dislikes it.
being called a pet | he isn’t a pet. he is a familiar - a loyal companion and friend. ‘i don’t wag my tail for anyone.’
people who threatens/talks bad about his master | anyone who talks bad about his master or threatens his master, is saying a personal insult and threat to sixx himself.
Fears:
losing someone who he cares for | sixx isn’t one to care for someone easily, as he takes it hard when he loses someone precious.
being unable to protect the people he wants | as a familiar he’s main purpose to to protect and serve the people he dedicates his life to. if he is unable to fulfill his duty he deems himself incompetent of being called a familiar.
unable to return home | to some, home is where the heart is. to sixx, home is where his master or loved one is. ‘master...i’m home.’
light | not a major fear, but since it’s his weakness he fears it to an extent.
Strengths:
cooking | he is a decent cook and would normally cook meals for himself, on rare occasions for his master.
empathetic | having to have fought battles he is very empathetic to those who have fought hard battles. he also shows great empathy to those who have a fear of getting binded to another as he too feared.
hand-to-hand combat | basic skills of the art, he can’t rely on his abilities all the time. he knows he isn’t invincible.
escaping | his ability allows him to make quick escapes quite easily.
adaptable | in different situations he is quite adaptable, he doesn’t like to worry about situations too much as he doesn’t wish to make something bigger than what it actually is.
Weaknesses:
light | his greatest nemesis. light is insufferable pain. ‘throw me into a box, i don’t care, just get me out of here.’
protective | sixx is protective of those who he cares about. this makes him rash in decision making as his only thought is to protect the person. he will be willing to do anything that’s a possibility.
shadow manipulation | though he is still a demon of sorts, sixx cannot manipulate shadows well. his ability shadow walk took him years to master. ‘why don’t you try controlling the shadows then?!’
independent | he finds it hard to work with another, he is use to working alone and relying on himself. he will work with others if he has too but he’ll distance himself as much as possible.
stubborn | when he is in one of his ‘moods’ sixx is quite stubborn. he refuses to cooperate and insist on sticking to his plan even if weaknesses are pointed out.
Goals:
to get strong enough to protect the people he cares for | he doesn’t want to see the blood of his loved ones spilt anymore. ‘i’ll be your army.’
to be able to withstand light a bit more | it would help him greatly...
to find more people he can care for | at the moment he only has his master, but sixx wants to be able to protect more people he cares for.

Due to his dark appearance and his nature, Sixx is often mistaken to be aggressive and unwilling to get along with others. Despite his appearance and dark aura is truly just a loyal hound. Anyone who has earned his loyalty will be guaranteed to be protected whenever. However, due to his stubborn nature, he will not hesitate to fight/argue with another when he is ticked off. Due to his experiences, Sixx has become empathetic to those who have or still goes through the things he has, his experiences have also made him quite adaptable in many situations. Sixx shows a lot of honesty when talking about his personal feelings. He is also quite trustworthy and will be willing to take a secret to the grave if needed.
Having served his master for quite some time, Sixx is used to serving others and helping out with different things. The nature isn't submissive in any sense it's just something he had grown accustomed to doing. He will not hesitate to do something for someone else as long as he is able to, and is willing to give up his time to help another. He might come off as a servant or a butler in some cases, and this can get quite annoying.
History:
01 | Existence
Sixx doesn’t remember his ‘birth’, he isn’t sure if he was born in the first place. He just existed. He lived his earliest years as an untainted familiar, but he always had a darker aura than the other familiars around him. It was rare to see familiars with dark aura's but for most cases they weren't that different to a regular familiar. Unfortunately through a chance encounter with a passing demon the locked-away aura was unleashed and Sixx was turned into a demon familiar. His appearance was more menacing and the part of him untainted was no more. After the incident he gave his life purpose to find a master to serve. No longer a pure familiar he left his ‘home’ and began a journey.
02 | Master
8 years into his journey, Sixx met his to-be master. During his time wandering he came across numerous demons willing to make him their familiar, but alas their souls were too weak to contain the power that burned inside him. These demons either died trying to control his power or kicked him out after they realised he couldn't help them. He was raw magic, only the talented could handle him, he may not have had many strengths, but he had an endless amount of potential. A single look between the two parties was all it needed and the bond was formed. Though the demon was quite arrogant at times, he had his redeeming qualities. It took time but soon their bond ran on nothing but loyalty and trust.
03 | Realisation
At this time Sixx has already served his master for a number of years. As he grew and matured, realisations began to hit him one by one. Each battle he fought the more stronger he felt - but he knew wasn’t strong enough. His goal as a familiar was to serve his master but it was also to help fulfil the masters dream. Even though he knew he had much potential, Sixx never was able to tap into the abilities that were held within himself. Deeming himself as incompetent he dedicated the years onward to practise and training, hoping to be able to gain the skills he knew he had. As he thinks of his master the more he fears for the mans safety. If he didn’t advance, one day Sixx wouldn’t be enough.
04 | Decision
When he hits his 80’s [which is quite young for a demon mind you] he decides to enrol into Otherworlde. It was an academy he had heard through conversations and rumours. Said to be the best place to be able to help him, Sixx decided that it was the way to go. The academy would hopefully allow him to further enhance his abilities and to also learn more of the world he has yet to explore fully. It was a decision for himself but also for his master, he would not let his incompetence be the cost of a life. “Master, I will come back a stronger and more reliable man.” With the consent of his master, he hesitantly leaves the place he had called home for many years and starts a journey to a place in which he hopes to grow.

He wishes to learn healing spells but his nature doesn’t give him the ability to.
He is able to turn into his 'demonic' form but only when he is near his master.
His binded mark is located on his thigh, it is also the most vulnerable part of his body.

Paragraph Sample:
Sixx blinks in surprise at the words that had made their way out of the professors mouth. He heard right...right? The familiar inhales sharply before letting his voice flow out smoothly and slowly just to be sure he heard right.
“So I just take a seat...anywhere?” Glancing around the classroom whilst making sure he did not make eye contact, Sixx takes note on the fact that the few students in class at the moment do seem to be scattered around in the seats. Still not willing to make a mistake on his first day of attendance he asks again.
“Are you sure there aren’t any assigned seats?” A frown of confusion makes its way onto his face as he glances back at the professor. At the irritated look of the professors face he makes his conclusion.
“I didn’t think professors were normally this lenient.” He finally states.
