Monochrome is not at all like her parents. She is more of the stereotypical egghead, but she does have edge to her to where she does enjoy a good fly. She’s not gonna be nose, dive into a book 24 seven but she does like the subject when trying to learn about something such as geology. One day she happens to find a quartz crystal. It’s very crystal clear, and she was intrigued by it and took it home, polished it etc. it happened that in cloudsdale the worker support was running low due to sickness and they couldn’t make as much color this freaked all the pegasi out due to the illness taking so much out. Monochrome and her family saw what was happening and she got an idea, light with crystals creates color. So she got her gear together and went gem hunting, her parents had no clue where she went and were bothered because this is a very serious matter. She returned soon with rubies, sapphires, amethysts and many gems with spectrum of color. She got light from the sun to hit the gems and boom spectrums of color glowed and then they put the beams of colorful light into the stuff used to make the rainbows and monochrome had done it! She found a new source to look for color in rough times. Then out of nowhere, she got her cutiemark a string of prismatic color to symbolize her perseverance to search for a solution and the stars to symbolize her bright hope.

monochrome wants to be a professional artifact hunter, she enjoys the thrill and calm process of trying to find ancient artifacts. It’s a process she enjoys going through and learning upon, and studying the things she finds.

Monochrome is very knowledgeable of types of gems and has learned about them from her aunt rarity and sometimes maud when she comes around monochrome has always found it gemstones intriguing, especially with how light gives them their color hence why she tried her theory if she used the light to create the luster of color from the gems to help the factory.

Monochrome is sometimes subconscious about her artifact and geology liking due to the fact she supposed to be the daughter of a great flyer. Not a nerdy kid, which can make her feel she doesn’t live up to her mothers expectation.

Monochrome has a crush on Orion but isn’t for sure he feels the same, when she first met him she seen he had a kinda edgy behavior, and due to how he talked about how he hated girls frothing at the mouth for him and not liking him for him,she realized she couldn’t really express she had feelings for him to do that rigidness and due to her trolling him when they first met he’d likely assume she’s just another one of those girls. When in reality she saw they had a lot in common and maybe he could see that if he’d give her a chance. Due to not exactly knowing how to flirt with him she’d just do it through teasing actions which she’d soon see he didn’t exactly like it, well so she speculates.

Due to being a batpony monochrome has sensory to light and or sounds, hence why she’s more nocturnal. She has times of where she alternates from being regular hours to nocturnal, Sunday to Wednesday she’s day time then Thursday to Friday and Saturday she’s nocturnal sometimes it’s all in reverse.
