Description

Set in the early days of Arum's puphood, the brood is visited by an old friend of their father's, Valka. She finds the boy as he waits at the cavern's mouth, eager to explore the grounds beyond but patient all the same. While they wait for the rest of his family to get ready, Valka sits with the boy and keeps him company. She speaks of his father, and like everyone else who has mentioned him, her words carry the heavy weight of grief and regret. He was a great wolf, she claims, as does the rest of them, but Arum finds himself wondering what it is that made his sire so renowned. Valka is able to shed some light on the subject, but even after hearing her descriptions, Otsoko remains but a faceless stranger to his son.
