I like that idea too, then each is layered with its opposite, and our blue-grey town can still represent oblivion!

Another thing I just noticed is that the snow and the higher part of the sky share a bit of the same colour. So it looks like you're making an afterlife connection to heaven, even though the branches of that tree fall down in a mournful way.

perhaps I was contrasting the darkness of the world aboce (trees, graves) with the peace of the world beyond (the snow and sky).

I think you really capture a feeling with this one.

I like how it's dark near the graves and gets lighter further from. The willow tree seems to be protecting, or hiding them (maybe because of the pink sky behind it?). And it looks like they're in danger of being totally covered in snow.

Not sure if it's the best angle, but the broken branch in the middle of the ground helps somehow.

I think I need to go back with a different lense because there is a much better angle but I couldn't get there with my what I had.
