Description Chuchunya is a hominid cryptid who's been witnessed a number of times in regions of siberia. It has been described as bipedal, well over six feet tall and being covered with dark hair. I depicted it based on some cryptozoologists' suggestion as a surviving member of Homo heidelbergensis, archaic human that predates neanderthals. H.heidelbergensis' skeletal morphologies were very similar to those of robust neanderthals but their body proportions were somewhat closer to modern sapien species with having relatively longer limb bones.

Interesting take on the Russian "Neanderthal cryptid" mentioned in some of their stories. A very nice caveman image, although good ol' Heidelberg man would have been a large tough guy, based on what we have to work on.

Beautiful artwork. I've just been recently to Heidelberg and saw the jaw of the H. heidelbergensis (well, a copy of it - the original was locked away) and I wished they had shown a reconstruction of depiction of him that was comparable with your artwork! Really nice!

Thanks very much for such a kind remark, it's truthfully appreciated!
That's awesome to hear that you saw the actual skeletal remains of this archaic human. I wish I could've done before depicting this.

Yes, it's a pity. But your artwork is great, nonetheless!

beautiful, too I really love the details, it makes him look very lifelike, like if your drawing was inspired by a photography

Thanks a lot Moony. I depicted this based on the actual picture of H.heidelbergensis' skull, imagining how he should have looked like in the living form.

And you used your own body as reference for his physique?

Gomen, I keep forgetting that you use yourself as a model for your big cat and sabertooth pictures.

Haha I couldn't have said it any better my self
But on a serious note, this was one of the most physically formidable among archaic human species, I believe.
My next piece will also be some more cryptids.

Nope, I'll continue making several more hominid-type ones. I still respect humans after all.:]

Oh, I forgot, have you heard of this one Chinese yeti-like monster that leaves in bamboo forests, and faints whenever it catches a victim?
