another kickflip.
this is not the same shot like 'flipped'
find the little differences
but it is taken while the same session...
thanks to jan merlin friedrich
so after a thumbhour event from in their dAmn chat some guys asked me to submit a b+w version.
here it is.
i developed the RAW several times combined them in ps and finally used photomatix for tonemapping (16 -> 8bit)

Love it. Good perspective, and the lighting worked out well. I think b&w helps to bring out a little more contrast and mood.

The black and white is a nice touch, but what I really like about this pic is how it's right at midflip and almost lines up with the railing in the background. I also like the line work of the building itself. The light, the pillars, the gaurd-rail, all compliment the picture very nicely. It does take the attention off the skater a bit, though. :\

rein vom lightning find ich das sw besser, vom gesamten her allerdings bevorzuge ich das farbige. einfach da die farben dem ganzen noch die benötigte lebendigkeit verleihen. das sw wirkt irgendwie bissl steril.

ein bild ganz nach meinem geschmack
tolles lich, tolle kontraste, tolle muster auf dem boden und im hintergrund, ein dynamisches motiv das sich vom hintergrund abhebt... und natürlich einen richtig schönen, hohen kickflip

Sehr stark. Durch das S/W kommt die tolle Lichtsituation viel stärker raus. Pose is auch toll, gleichzeitig spektakulär und und witzig.
Technisch einwandfrei, knackscharf und gute Helligkeitsverteilung.
Von der Komposition bin ich mir nich ganz so sicher, hat vorzüge und nachteile:
Das Motiv is nich ganz 2:1 oder 1,6:1, was einerseits mehr spannung reinbringt, auf der anderen Seite das Bild etwas unruhig macht. Mir gehts so, dass ich den rahmen nach rechts rücken will, weil der Skateboarder gleich ausm Bild fährt

knackscharf is es leider nicht
und jo die komposition fand eigentlich anklang nur oben und unten is etwas viel vllt. 16:9 haben einige vorgeschlagen... er fährt von rechts nach links. man sieht also wo es hingeht...

That is another amazing shot, not my favourite from the ones I have seen from you but its up there with the best. I am suprised at how much detail you have managed to capture in what looks like to be a low light setting.
Did you use a flash or have to do much post shot work? I would presume that you used a flash on this shot to be able to capture the amount of detail you have and at such a sharp focus would be seemingly impossible otherwise, its a suprise therefore that this has come out so well because camera flashes to tend to look like tourist shots if your not carefull. This one has been really well done, maybe I need to get myself out there and practicing with the flash

yeah i own a canon430ex flash and if u have a closer look on the concrete scantlings (sorry i looked up that expression in a dictionary
i aimed the flash against the light under the ceiling.
the great details and greyscales came out because i combined different RAW developings in a 16bit file and finally used 'tonemapping' in Photomatix to get a 8bit pic.
