Yeah, it really is. Have you tried reading a book or watching people draw to help you?

yeah, I force my self to read atleast one chapter a day, and I recently found out about the youtuber Baylee Jae who does traditional art with markers and it have really made me more inspired to draw since I have promarkers and want to draw something with them XD

I often have to do the same. I've not really come across any artists, except this guy that draws really good dragons, that inspire me. So I frequently turn to reading books.
What kind of books do you read? I used to read Warriors, but now I'm rereading the Harry Potter series.

It often works because they're so awesome. I want to be able to draw awesome dragons! but I am sooo bad at it ; ^;
Latest book I completed was "after you'd gone" by maggie o'farrell, I've read the warrior cats series aswell (1st to 4th series atleast and the book about bluestar and the other about crookedstar) and the one I'm reading right now is the 6th book in the ranger's apprentice series written by John Flanagan ^w^ aaah, the Harry potter series are sooo goood <3

Dragons are awesome. I've always been into them. They just look so cool. ;w; I'm not good at drawing fullbodies of them, but I have drawn a decent headshot of one. I'm sure that your dragons are even better though. <3
I've not heard of 'After You'd Gone'. What's it about?
I've kind of grown out of the Warriors fandom a little bit. I still like drawing the characters, and I do enjoy reading the series still, but I'm not as big a fan of it as I was before. (I'm going to let my cousin at least borrow the books. I may let her keep them but idk yet.)
Yesss they are, omg. I've read the first book so many times. Although I keep reading it as I always feel like I've missed something.

yeah, I can't barley draw headshots with dragons X3
I've wanted to try to draw the dragons from How to Train your Dragon but,
I haven't really done it yet x)
It's about a woman named Alice who gets into a trafic accident and ends up
in a coma, and then you follow her life in a strange timeline while she is
trying to decide if it's worth waking up or to die. It was so confusing but when
it all got togheter by the end it was a book to enjoy c:
Same here, though I don't draw the characters since it was so long ago since
I read the books so I barley remember anything. I'm wondering about re-reading them
and get the new series dawn of the clans once the 6 book box is comming out, but
I haven't decided yet.
Haha, same here. I've read it so many times that I'm tired of that book though, haha xD

I look forward to seeing the HTTYD headshots. I love HTTYD and it would be interesting to see them in your style. ^^
Aaa, that sounds like it would be very interesting! It probably would be a bit difficult for me to follow along with. I'm more into the fantasy book genres. (Although the confusing part does sound like a fantasy book I once read. So I might be able to follow it along fine. Depends, I suppose. x3)
I wanted to get Dawn of the Clans but I'm afraid that I won't invest time in them. I haven't read all the Warrior cat books that I currently have. I mean, new books might get me back into the fandom, but I want to risk spending money and have the books be ignored. (I have heard good things about the Dawn of the Clans though.) Have you tried reading the Seekers or Survivors books? I have a few of the Seekers books, but they're not as engaging as the Warrior ones.
lol, I'll probably get to that point eventually. x3 It'll probably take a while, as Harry Potter is my second favorite fandom. (I've watched all the movies and I have most of the video games.)

One day they may come, first I would just like to try out doing them in the dark where no one can see them and me failing horribly X´D
Same here, I prefer fantasy genres but my mother brought it and have waited for me to finish reading it so she could borrow it so I felt forced to read it through x)
Awh, okay. Time is all I have since I don't have a job and it trying to get one is slower than watching a race between a snail and a sloth XD No, I haven't if the library had them I would probably have read them but they don't since I live in sweden and they barley have anything in english that isn't the harrypotter and hungergames x) I haven't thought of buying them either since I'm not into dogs and bears so much as I'm into cats, if you understand how I think XD
Hehe, after the 10th time and a forced book review from school I promise that you'll just want to puke on the book since you know everything already XD Aaah, the games. Some hours ago I really wanted to play the philosopher's stone and chamber of secrets games just because I saw some swedis guys play it on youtube (and the game was swedish dubbed! omfg, so bad that it's funny) XD

Lol. It's always a good idea to practice. x3 The part I have a hardest time drawing is shading and anatomy. (I'm the best at headshots. Although I can do a lot better with anatomy on paper.)
Oml I hate feeling forced reading through books! I used to hate reading through books in school for that reason. I like to read at my own pace so that I understand it all. (About the only good thing about it is that the teachers used to explain it to me.) I get more invested in the books anywho if I move at a slower speed.
I've tried getting a job several times myself. I'm not getting very much luck either. I applied for this one place and they never even called me back. ^^' I filled out the forms for two other places as well but they never called me back either. I'm still frustrated about it, but I've just decided to make art to pass the time. (Until I can begin going to college. Which I hope to get in by September. The only reason I'm not in college right now is because my mom never filled out the financials.)
I started off just borrowing Seekers from the library. The first two books were fine, but it just got boring afterwards. The bears kept traveling and, being they were younger bears, not much fighting really happened. I never read Survivors though. I've only heard things about it. Seems like a lot of the people I talk to are divided on it. Tbh, I'm more into cats myself. I started reading the books solely because it had a cat on the cover. (And my aunt bought me the book so I pretty much had to read it. Didn't do me much good because my Aunt bought me the Power of Three. Thank goodness the book writers gave a little backstory. x3)
Lol, I'm sure! I don't plan on reading the series that many times. (At least I hope.) Imo the third game is the best (for ps2) although the controls are sticky. I can legit repeat the entire third game while I'm playing it. Although, whenever I'm Hermione, I do want to punch Ron in the mouth. He is sooo annoying in the game. If you ever get the chance though, then you totally play all the games. c: (Any after the third are a bit lackluster though.)

It is, how else will you get better? x) I get alot of people asking me how I've gotten so good and I tell them time after time "you'll just have to practice that's what I've done" and the reply I get is "nooo, I will not ever be as good as you" ... not with that attitude XD Feels like people just want a magical power to be a great artist (I wish to) but we need to practice to get better x)
Shading can be really hard and everything will not get right, but it helps alot to read tutorials and make a cicle where light comes from and try to use it as a help ^v^
Anatomy is always hard to get right ; ^; best way is to use references as a help to get everything right (especially when you draw fullbody characters)
Same here, I prefer to read books that I want to read in the pace I want to have x) yeah, if you read at your own pace and read the way you want to ^^
I have applied for over 70 works and I think that around 7 of them had replied to say that they've chosen other people or I'm not fit for their work. Ah, I see boring about the college part :/ I never applied to a university because I haven't really found anything that sounds fun and interesting to work with later in life, so I will try to get a work earn money and see if I find something funnier later CX What are you going to study? c:
Hehe, I bought the series after I saw alot of warrior cats related stuff on youtube and deviantart and it caught my interest ^^ Oh, starting out with power of three, one of the best series in my opinion prefer that over 2nd series and 4th but the 1st is the best in my opinion. ^^
Just don't read it that many times not good for the health x´D The characters are usually annoying in games, try to help but just sounds sassy as hell while not doing anything themself xD The game I've played the most is goblet of fire because you could play with friends on that one and it was always funny to throw rock at their faces x´3

I get insulted for my art, aaa. I try to ignore it but a lot of negative feedback is really disheartening. I very rarely ever get good comments. Unless it's for an art trade or something. ;^; I know that the only way I can get better is if I keep practicing. Others don't seem to get that. They just think everyone is instantly good. But it isn't the case at all! Practicing is what will end up making results. So I'm just going to push through it and get better.
I've been reading quite a few tutorials and my grandmother has gotten me awesome books that teach a little about drawing certain animals and learning their anatomy. So far, I have been using references, although I avoid looking at the art of others. I like to look at the animals themselves.
I'm thinking about studying animal grooming. I like to work with animals and grooming is something that I've done for quite a while. (I help others groom their pets and I've always enjoyed doing it. Especially as it made the animal feel better afterwards.)
I read a bit of the fourth, didn't much catch my interest. I disliked Dovewing and I preferred Hollyleaf over her, tbh. (That and the fact that the StarClan cats and Darkforest cats died a second time was weird.) The first was definitely the best though! I felt like they were truly cats that were trying to fight for survival.
Omg, that is very true! (I used to do the same with my Goblet of Fire game. I'd do it whenever the others were being annoying. My Goblet of Fire game is pretty broken and glitchy, too, which makes it even funner!)

Wait what? Insulted? Why? I understand that the negative feedback drags you down, it always does as my teacher said it takes 7 positive things to take away 1 negative thing. Yeah, alot of people thinks that I was magicaly born with a drawing talent and I'm sitting behind my screen facepalming (I honestly do not believe in beeing born with a talent) because I've been working my ass of drawing for sooo many years and my teachers tried to make me fail their classes when I got grades that was way over avarage, but I "didn't" listen to what they said during their lecture and that's why they wanted to make me fail, haha... Talent, not really - hard work, yes. That's the spirit! ^^
I have like two or three tutorial books(one is a fat once with over 500 pages) which I rarley use but enjoy to look through but I rather read tutorials from persons on deviantart since they work with digital art, and my books are about traditional art. It can be a good thing looking at other peoples drawings to since it can give you inspration and great new positions to try out. I understand that it's nice to, if I still lived at home I would probaby follow my familys cats all around just to get great pictures with new angles x)
Oh, sounds interesting especially if it something that you enjoy I hope you get into college and get to study what you want!
Uggh, Dovewing felt soo worthless during the whole series and her character was just straigt out annoying 'Imma gonna go and love another cat from another clan because I looove him, I get all the guys everyone lives meee.' ... I prefered Hollyleaf since she was a loyal and fair warrior who did her best to follow the law and codes. Indeed, and they introduced you to their world so great!
Mohaha, true power of evil and awesome X´D

I guess because they think my art is shit? I mean, it doesn't really bother me anymore. I pretty much tell them that, lol. But it appears that telling them that makes it look like you were offended or something? Guess I just won't reply to their comments anymore. Either way, it doesn't really bother me all that much. I know one day that my art will get better. (Then I'll pretty much be getting the last laugh. Because I won't be making any art for those that insult the way I drew in the past.) I know it seems mean, but I think that I'm entitled to it. I refuse to praise people for teasing and demeaning others. Constructive criticism is okay, but not insulting.
I agree with you! The ones found on dA are a lot better. Not only because they deal with online programs, but because a lot of the artists that do them have a ton of experience under their belt. I've saved a couple tutorials and have practiced in their styles. (I don't upload them or anything. I just sketch them out as practice.)
Lol, yeah, agreed. I do know that it's difficult for others to do. They get tempted to trace over the other person's art. (Which I don't do and actually never have done.)
Dovewing is useless, tbh. I never got into that series. I actually wanted Hollyleaf to return and was delighted when she did. (She still remained loyal to her Clan and everything. Which I respected. I kind of wish she had been the one to have a Power. After all, the Power of the Code isn't really a bad power to have.) It's a bit disappointing that we got landed with Dovewing. I don't even fully understand what her power was? It kind of reminded me of Jayfeather's power (or a power that a normal medicine cat could have) and that doesn't really give her a separate identity from the others.

I bet they can't draw better them selves and are just jealous of your determination of getting better and actually practicing. Meh, they're nothing to listen at all probably just trolls who loves attention ^^ Same here, it's one thing as a joke between friends who can take it, but it's another thing when it's serious and insulting to a person who just wanted to make art.
Indeed, it's really awesome that people do those tutorials to help beginners improve and get better ^^ When I'm trying to learn anatomy and just the flow of muscles in animals and humans I actually trace just to feel how everything flows but I never upload or keep those sketches, they're just there to help me with the flow so I understand better, but I don't trace art just real life picture for the most accurate anatomy as possible.
Yeah, her powers was just super hearing... Like, wow you heard when the dark forest cats were going to attack, but that was it really and the cats would've survived without knowing that. Hollyleaf would've felt better as a power cat indeed, she was more responsible and knew the consequences of things, I felt that her powers would've been something that gave everyone hope when they're in the dark since she was never giving up on the code and always tried her best. Indeed, Dovewing was a huge dissapointment but I honestly loved Ivypool, when she acted as a spy for the clan and sacrificed her life every night just to get more information. Yeah, Jayfeathers power were just an over powered medecine cat, and Dovewing could just head things but not visit startclan or anything, felt like that power woudl've been better for a blind cat than Jayfeathers powers.

Lol, probably. I've looked at the art of those that tease me. They either have really bad art, (lazily put together, I don't judge people like that) or have clearly traced their artwork and have uploaded it. So I've pretty much just accepted them as trolls trying to take me down and such. (I hide their comments as spam now. Because that's what it normally is.) I don't really have many friends on here. So I'm not used to playful teasing, unfortunately. ^^" dA used to be really friendly. Until trolls, greediness and thieves began to spread. Add that to the fact that the staff does nothing but ignore the issue/make it worse and the site is chaos. x3 Most of the people that watch me, and ask me for art, are quite respectful though. I did get at least three people that wanted to commission me, which made me feel great. (My art has definitely been getting better though.)
That kind of tracing doesn't bother me, tbh. (A lot of people trace in order to learn and I can understand that. I'm just more of a visual learner.) The only kind of tracing that bothers me is when people upload it onto the site and claim that it's theirs. (It happens a lot too. Particularly when it comes to bases. I guess, because it's a base, people think that they can do whatever they want with it. Even though the original owner prohibits tracing. It's unfortunate, as the original poster usually dislikes that and takes the base down, but there's not much we can do.)
Exactly! I thought that Hollyleaf's power would have been the best. It disappointed me even more when she actually died. She was one of my favorites, aaa. Jayfeather's power was pretty overpowered and Lionblaze's kind of were too. I didn't pay attention to it as much as the others, but I didn't appreciate the fact that he could never lose. I guess the fourth series was the weakest. Could have been stronger if Hollyleaf hadn't gotten stuck in the tunnels. I also liked Ivypool. She was definitely the one of the two that intrigued me a bit more.

Sounds like the best thing to do in that situation, and maybe block them if they continue? Same here, I'm pretty lonley on deviantart and always see a group of users beeing best friends and then I sit there 'I want friends like that to...'. But the last time I tried it was with a guy we barley talked for a month(and during that month we talked like once between 5 days or more) but he flirted constantly with me and told me that he loved me, and when I stod up for my self and said 'please stop this is just getting really creepy and you know that I do have a boyfriend'. Then I was full of my self and couldn't understand his feeling at all I've never been alone my whole life... I ended up blocking him since he did not listen to me or respect my feelings at all, and just tried to sound like the victim at all .
I miss those times : / The staff doesn't give a shit, and it feels like they're more up for the money with updating the core membership and making it more expensive. People asking for art can be really nice until you've drawed them the art and then they straight out ingore you, or when you say no some get really rude and others are respectfull and says stuff that they understand which is great. Awesome that people want to commission you, keep up the great work! ^w^/ After looking through your gallery I can see alot of improvment, which is great! C:
That thing happens to much, which is just bad. Especially when it's really popular artists art, so the tracing can't really get no attention since the artist have a lot of followers who recognize the style and tell them to f*** off. It's really bad when they do that to new artists since they don't really know that it is not okay, but I don't really care if it's a person who've done it regulary and mark commenters as spam.
The only "nice" thing about her death was that she told Leafpool that she forgave her. Same here! ; ^; Loinblaze was just annoying as heck after he realised that he couldn't get hurt during a fight, that was just to much really it would've been more interesting that he couldn't loose a fight but atleast get hurt so he could develop his power and grow as a character because of that. It felt that the series could've been so much better if the main characters with powers had to develop them so they actually train to get stronger, because it felt as if they got the powers and was done and could use them.
