It plays over and over in my head.
It's haunting.
Still haunting.

For we are put place by place
Like pawns
Ever diligent are the masterminds at work
The clock is ticking away as they
set up each piece thinking
three
steps ahead.
Even more if the picture is clear enough.
At times we may end up staying in the same place
for a lengthy period.
We are to come into play later.

The game is new.
We are only in the first few steps.
I am no pawn

The path for me is NOT straight.

I know it's been stale for you
Eagerly awaiting your turn..
your.. chance to move.
You're struck by fear,
aren't you?
That you may be knocked out early.
Well..
My move
and in my most awkward of steps can be
tricky to follow
I can catch you off guard.
With sword in hand I wait though
.. you are but a step away.
So close in my range it's
nerve wrecking

I've turned the page...
It's blank.
But with each passing breath gets filled with
stories
plot twists
revelations
It keeps the reader on her toes.
Engulfed
..
completely

Aren't you.. reader?
So desperately wanting to write your own words
in these pages. Finding yourself
Imagining.
You can picture the scenery.
The smell of the moist air.
You can feel the rain on the
lovers lips
It consumes you.

The melody is starting over.
Again the song plays.
It's still as beautiful as ever.
Each note pressed could bring a
tear.
..Why?
Maybe it's time to change tune,
something a bit more exciting.
This is not the one to listen to
forever.
but god knows I love this song..
And will always be among my favorites
I just need to change it
for me..
The melody IS soothing.
but NOT fulfilling.
