At first glance I thought that it was possibly a photo... But this is an excellent painted piece of digital art. Wonderful! I am a fan of this bands music and I think you did an awesome job! Keep it up!

thank you! i have a few more pieces in mind to do (the various linearts are in my galley). this piece was submited at the end of april of 2006, and ive tried once or twice to pick up the series again and complete it. however, i feel that i lack the skills to create the pieces how *i* see them and how *i* feel they should be, and what linkin park means to me.
so maybe one day the series will be complete =]

I think you should keep trying and doing them. Practice makes perfect. As long as you look at the ones you did and notice parts that you could have done to make it look more what you wanted to do, you can incorporate that into your other drawings/paintings. You don't want to wait about too long or you lose it entirely... This is something I learned the hard way. I stopped drawing for a while and it really hurt me when I tried to get back into it.
Though, maybe I can help ya sometime down the road with this because I put you on my watch list. =3 Sooner or later when you post I'll see it and try my best to help you see what you can improve. I'm still figuring out how to critique but I'll do my best. =3

That's pretty cool...what program did you use? I did something similar in Illustrator when I was in high school, but of course it wasn't as good. The only suggestion I'd make, and this is coming from a photographer's standpoint, is cite your photo source otherwise you're kind of dancing on the plagiarism borderline.

i used photoshop cs2; took a screenshot from a dvd and painted it from that
