Me too!  Not many of the newer ones capture the same feel that these did back in the day, truth be told.  Oh, the stories are gripping and powerful, but what I think has happened in the movies is happening with them as well as many comics: it's the gore that sells.

Yeah, It's kind of too bad.
A lot of the modern stuff feels like it's too inspired by movies and tv, afraid to embrace its weird pulpy roots.

Mm ... it's the way of things, my friend.  Just like so much that's changed in the world.  For better or for worse, I suppose.

I try not to knock it, but it's hard not to.
