Description
Based on the IRL state flag and made into a swallowtail, the Rhode Island state flag clearly celebrates the state's maritime outlook. The anchor and outline come from the IRL flag as does the blue of the star, from the banner containing the word "Hope" on IRL flag. The flag lacks the pine tree of New England, but the placement of the star calls back to the New England regional flag.
