Hi Jakehawn, I was wondering if you have permission to paint wandjinas? It's very offensive to depict them if you don't. See: [link]

So, i guess what you and the article are trying to tell me is that i can't paint things i may like or admire because some group claims that i need their permission. If that is the case, and an indigenous people can "own" something their ancestors painted, then i guess every person who carves an African inspired statue or gets a tribal tattoo better watch out just in case it offends the Africans or North American Indians. In that case maybe the people of South and Central America better stand up and squawk about how their art is being used and drawn or painted by people around the world. Maybe all the Christians should join together and bitch about people creating or wearing crosses or the Buddhists should shake their beads at anyone who creates a mandala. If I painted something that offends a person, sorry, but nobody tells me what i can or can't paint. So, basically, to sum this up, if you don't like my work or believe that i should be painting a certain type of material or idea, tough. Lick my bag, and get over it....
