Hey guys. Some of you may know that I teach a comic and illustration class for teens. I’ve been doing this for a few years. This year my class has decided to organize a small comics festival. It’s called Fanaticon and it’ll be on Sat, Feb 13th at the East Portland Community Center . I’m helping out, but really it’s teh kids that are running teh whole thing, and they’re doing a great job! We have about 30 different artists, comic creators, crafters and student artists tabling at the show, so there should be plenty of neat stuff to check out. I’ll be there with the new Medusa book and Lilineko (the crafter who makes my Medusa hats, pillows and other stuff) will be there as well. Admission is free too. So if you live in the Portland area please come by and check the show out. We’re hoping that Fanaticon can grow into a yearly event!

i am liking the dynamic between these two
i already feel that they could be good friends down the line and maybe even more but thats for the future to say
either way i like how they work off one another, both are cynical and smart mouthed, the differance is the mermaid is trying to repent and do well while i feel jake is trying to avoid adressing a problem and thinking ignoring it is the best option, which i can relate. i may not be a parent i grew up with 10 brothers and sisters and know how it is to just move on and want to be a family when things get tough.
anyway good work with this new addition to the main cast, if thats what the mermaid is going to be

ohh OHHH it's a one-two by Jenny and Jake is stumbling against the ropes! I forgot about that deal, had to get in the MM time machine again back to strip 351.
She's a prideful one, though. Mermaid this and mermaid that... trying to get Jake to drink the mermaid Kool-aid.

It looks like Jake is having a tuff time handling her, what do you think his strategy will be, 10Gauge?

He probably won't be able to keep up the "shut up" defense for much longer, that's for sure. His only hope is to last until the end of the round and the bell rings.
Until then, his best bet is to keep on the move and stay out of the corners. If he gets trapped there, she'll use her lightning fast jabs to put him on the mat for the 10 count.

Well Jake better keep that guard up, and hope for a miracle. Maybe he'll get lucky and some interference will come their way.

The next panel shows him using what's probably the last of the "shut up!" blocks... a TKO might be in his future if he doesn't tag out!
