sorry to hear about your troubles, I think perhaps a hiatus is in order. Put the strip down for awhile and let the deadlines go, do something different for awhile then come back. I think this would help you and perhaps where you have the strip headed it might make things more clear. Anyway I do hope you feel better soon.
Later days

Thanks. Thats good advice. I decided to take a little time this week, both to relax but also to work on a completely random project thats been on my mind, and that has helped a lot.

Don't let depression kill something you love! Mine thinks that yoga tastes good, the bastard. Fight it! And we're more interested in your well being than just your art. Hopefully your art gives you happiness and satisfaction, and that fights the depression. Take some time to focus on reorienting yourself. If you need some down time, take it and rest so you can fight again. >_< Walking and music often helps me get some breathing room. Depression is real and it's a bitch. It's okay if you have to shift down a gear. I'm rambling, but I have related feelings and just want to tear them to pieces just to get back to sunshine on the other side. Take your time, and don't worry about us.

Walk and music actually usually helps me too, but I haven't been doing that. I think I'll take a walk tonight after work.

You don't have to be depressed to occasionally feel in blues. It happens to all of us when life doesn't meet our expectations some how, and usually you get over it when some little kink in your neck works itself out in new ideas, unexpected rewards or a fresh approach. If not ... well, you could be really cut out for work in the insurance field ... but I doubt it.

I think thats what will happen. I'll get over it in a week or so. For now it sucks.

Take it easy as best you can ... it's not like you're under contract or I'm paying you.

Jake... whazzap? still buthurt because of your recent tax declaration? (but I hear ya... as necessary as a wooden leg!)
yes... I thought I feel a smaaaall lack of updates recently... especially MM! but then, it's still vacation time, and you deserve to shift down 1 or 2 gears.
anxiety... well, I'm with you. had some of this now and then too. but then, who wouldn't...?
I've a small trick for dark times like that (it might sound somewhat morbid, but it works... at least for me): f.e. the next time you come along by a clinic/hospital (or just on the average street), just watch those who are actually impaired, like sitting in a wheel chair, or have to use crutches on both arms all their life, or mentally impaired ones (especially the hard cases)... and then sit down at a quiet place, and think about yourself being lucky still having four healthy limps, not to have relying on supporting tools like mentioned before, still bright & clear in the mind, AND: still young enough to care for yourself or even to switch your way of life to a somewhat healthier route for the future! (well, scratch healthier... but you'll get the gist?)
works every time for me... BTW, all of your system is still running well?

Honestly, the taxes cause me so much anxiety I sometimes want to throw up! not even because its a large amount of money, but just because its confusing and I dont feel like I have much control over it. But I've decided that I'll pay someone to do my taxes this year, so maybe that will help.
Everything is running well, which is a big relief actually. I'm sure you remember how frustrating my old situation was. Thankfully since the new computer everything has been very easy, which has actually been a great bit of stress relief. So I'm eternally grateful for that! Thanks. Its actually been a solid and noticeable improvement in the quality of my life!

Mr. Richmond... I can't claim to be an expert on the subject of depression, but I am familiar with it. 'Moving past it' is an admirable striving, but it is not that simple.
My best advice is to talk to your nearest and dearest. Try to open up and talk to them about your troubles, try to find out what caused these feelings. It may feel unpleasantly vulnerable, especially at first, but real depression isn't something you can just move beyond on your own.
If all else fails, feel free to pm me. If nothing else, I can be a listening ear and maybe a sounding board.
