yesterday i got back from a week long vacation in upstate NY and when i say it cleared my head i mean to say that my brains were emptied through my ears and filled with wildflowers and dusty train tracks, and fresh, mossy creeks, and friendship bracelets and misty blue mornings, and the sound of my niece exploding with silly fits of laughter, and thundery, friendly waterfalls and flaming orange and violet sunsets. i never want to lose those 7 long days and i hope to keep them safe for a long time.---
