You ever have that moment when you're watching a movie, then the characters do something or something happens that just makes you facepalm at the sheer idiocy or stupidity of it?

For me, that was the anti-kaiju wall from Pacific Rim.

I've always loved giant monster movies, and Pacific Rim was no different. The fights with the Jaegers and the Kaiju were epic, I loved the designs for everything, and I was legitimately surprised by a few moments. Plus it had Ron Perlman, GLaDOS, and Owen from Torchwood. How can it not be awesome?

But the wall had to be one the stupidest ideas I've ever seen. Not just as a plot device, but as a solution to any kind of problem.

The governments of the world cut the funding to Jaegers, since most of them had been destroyed, to devote their resources to building a wall around the Pacific ocean.

If it sounds stupid, that's only because it is: stop making giant robots to make a barrier around the largest and deepest body of water on the planet.

But as soon as I saw this scene, it made it all completely worth it
