Description Having been very unproductive lately with my photography I decided to travel the 200 miles down to Cornwall. I am staying with friends for the final few days of my Christmas break from work.

I have had to endure 2 whole days of completely overcast grey weather! Yesterday I managed to force myself out to the North coast for sunset even though the chance of any light was remote at best!

For about 4 minutes the clouds cleared and some sunlight made it through....

Godrevy, Cornwall.

Thanks Drew.
This is my Canon 17-35 L lens - it's one of the lower priced pro wide angle zooms from Canon - I love it.

A wide angle lens magnifies foreground and shrinks background so it works perfectly for coastal work.

I have the Canon 10-22 ultra wide angle lens. I love shooting seascapes with it

I don't need anything that wide on a full frame camera. 10mm amounts to 16mm when you include the crop factor, so my 17mm is just shy of your 10mm. I will shoot that wide if I am including a foreground.

Beautiful and I like it as it is. Try the Cape of Cornwall. That's were I got my best shots. Even if the sky is overcast it should be worth it for the crashing waves. [link] [link] It's down by Lands End and if you're not careful you will drive past it so you must keep looking for the signs... and watch out for the snake in the wall

Cool, glad you like. Coincidently I found myself near the Cape today - Priest's Cove - stunning little bay. Might put a shot or 2 up later.....

it's all nice round there. I think I prefer the south to the north. Not so many steep cliffs to climb down. I went to Bedrouthin Steps a few years ago but doubt I could manage it now which is a shame as I would love to photograph it now. Look forward to the photos.

fantastic exposure and motion on the tides. I think the composition could of been stronger running from left to right but that might just be me.

I need to get out. I havn't done anything since donna nook and i'm starting to go spare! You upto anything this weekend? Lauras not around and I wanna get some coastal stuff done before I head back to work.

Glad you like it Justin. I was really still in the process of adjusting the composition but the light appeared at that point so I had little choice but to shoot it! After about 4 mins there was no more light!

I am still in Cornwall for the weekend but I have had 3 wasted days here - absolutely overcast. I drove 40 mins this morning to a site I had found. Waited for the sky to clear as promised, waited some more......waited 30 mins until it was getting light.....Drove the 40 mins back home without even getting out of the car!!! Arse!!!

i was gonna head out this morning. took laura home - clear sky here, bit foggy and hard sunlight. got as far as ferndown and thought sod it and came back. my motivations just disapeered at the moment for anything!

Did you get my note re. your mobile number? I got a new phone i lost all my contacts thanks to the nokia pc suite system when transfering them from my old phone. The bloody thing cleared my entire address book!!!
